国际化十年：一家澳大利亚零售银行的经验之谈

Observation of vertex factorisation breaking in central pp interactions

Central \pipi events produced in pp interactions are studied in terms of correlations between the outgoing protons. It is observed there is more $\rho^{0}$(770) and \fmeson production in reactions where the outgoing protons %fastest and slowest particles in the laboratory frame are on opposite sides of the beam. This effect is not attributable to the trigger or the experimental acceptance, and suggests that the vertices do not factorise

A kinematical selection of glueball candidates in central production

A study of central meson production as a function of the difference in transverse momentum ($dP_T$) of the exchanged particles shows that undisputed $q \overline q$ mesons are suppressed at small $dP_T$ whereas the glueball candidates are enhanced

Measurement of Light Collection of CMS PbWO4 Crystals: Comparison with the Cristal Monte Carlo Simulation Program and Further Evaluation

The measurement of the signal for light collection limited by the effective area of the present APD detectors has been evaluated using a photomultiplier and co60 source. Comparison of the methods and experimental results for simple geometrical situations has been made with the results of the CRISTAL Monte Carlo program which is also used to evaluate more complicated geometries including evaluation of a wavelength shifter used with an APD as a photodetector

A study of the monitoring of radiation damage to CMS ECAL crystals, performed at X5-GIF

The ratio R, defined as the fractional decrease in the beam signal divided by the fractional decrease in the light monitoring signal, was measured at the GIF-X5 facility for a set of 20 ECAL barrel crystals. The dependence of R on the wavelength of the injected monitoring light and its path length in the crystals was studied. Measurements of the inter-crystal variation in R are presented for 10 pre-production crystals. Results on the dependence of signal loss on the irradiation profile are given. The use of lead filters, placed between a /sup 137/Cs source and a crystal, to reproduce different longitudinal irradiation profiles has been rested. (9 refs)

PbWO4 Crystals Radiation Hardness Test Setup at the CERN General Irradiation Facility

The CMS PWO crystals irradiation facility installed at the CERN GIF ( General Irradiation Facility) is described. The measurement method and corresponding stability issues are discussed. The setup was successfully used in the PWO crystals technology optimisation R&D, results of which are illustrated

On the Origin of the Transmission Damage in Lead Tungstate Crystals Under Irradiation

The origin of the transmission damage in PWO crystals is discussed. It is shown that both electron and hole centers created on the basis of structural defects in PbWO4 crystals contributed to the induced absorption of the crystals. The different aspects of the suppression of the recharge processes in PWO scintillation crystals are also discussed
