Resoconto di una tavola rotonda organizzata nell’ambito del Progetto AlmaIdea “La traduzione di testi per l’infanzia in una prospettiva di genere: aspetti teorici e applicati”, in occasione della quale le direttrici e i direttori editoriali di otto case editrici indipendenti italiane, Luisella Arzani (EDT – Giralangolo/Sottosopra), Donatella Caione (Matilda editrice), Maria Silvia Fiengo (Lo Stampatello), Monica Martinelli (Settenove), Davide Musso (Terre di mezzo Editore), Della Passarelli (Sinnos), Sara Saorin (Camelozampa) e Federico Zaghis (BeccoGiallo), hanno discusso di editoria, letteratura per l’infanzia, traduzione e questioni di genere

Traduzione, infanzia e genere

The theoretical and critical study of the translation of children\u2019s literature emerged as a discrete academic field only recently. If the first theoretical studies date back to the 1960s and the 1970s, the field reached its full academic legitimacy within Translation Studies only in the last two decades. This research is also \u2013 and almost inevitably \u2013 affected by the peculiarities of children\u2019s and young adult literature. After presenting the main characteristics of this specific literary production, the first part of this paper traces the development of research in the field, by providing a historical overview, describing the evolution of theoretical approaches, and highlighting the main areas of research. In particular, two key topics are discussed into more detail: the translation of \u201cculture", and social and ethical issues in translating for children and young adults. The review of existing studies highlights the major research trends and combines with some remarks on possible future research developments. It also reveals an increasing interest in the social, ethical, and ideological implications of the translation of children\u2019s literature, through different approaches (e.g., postcolonial, ecological, gendered). The second part of the paper is devoted to the translation of children\u2019s literature from a gendered perspective, as an example of this kind of concerns. The contacts and connections between the translation of children\u2019s literature and gendered approaches to translation are first outlined, so as to provide a reference framework. A closer look at the theoretical debate on gender and the translation of children\u2019s literature leads to a historical overview of recent studies investigating the translation of children\u2019s literature from the perspective of gender and to a review of the different lines of inquiry pursued over the years

Tra genere e generi. Tradurre e pubblicare testi per ragazze e ragazzi

Il volume nasce nell'ambito di un progetto AlmaIdea sulla traduzione di testi per l'infanzia in una prospettiva di genere, e propone una serie di contributi interdisciplinari, al crocevia fra studi traduttologici, letterari e di genere, focalizzati su svariate tipologie di testi per l'infanzia, letterari e non, tradotti dal francese, dall'inglese e dallo spagnolo, un ambito di ricerca ad oggi poco approfondito a livello internazionale e ancor più nel contesto accademico italiano. Nel testo viene proposto, infine, un documento ispirato al Codice Polite e volto a fornire alle case editrici così come a traduttrici e traduttori alcuni suggerimenti al fine di tradurre e pubblicare testi in una prospettiva di inclusione e sensibilità per gli aspetti di genere e delle diversità tutte
