Improved Discretization of the Full First-Order Magnetic Field Integral Equation
The inaccuracy of the classical magnetic field integral equation (MFIE) is a
long-studied problem. We investigate one of the potential approaches to solve
the accuracy problem: higher-order discretization schemes. While these are able
to offer increased accuracy, we demonstrate that the accuracy problem may still
be present. We propose an advanced scheme based on a weak-form discretization
of the identity operator which is able to improve the high-frequency MFIE
accuracy considerably - without any significant increase in computational
effort or complexity.Comment: 3 pages, 1 figure, accepted for the 15th European Conference on

Spatial phase dislocations in femtosecond laser pulses
We show that spatial phase dislocations associated with optical vortices can be embedded in femtosecond laser beams by computer-generated holograms, provided that they are built in a setup compensating for the introduced spatial dispersion of the broad spectrum. We present analytical results describing two possible arrangements: a dispersionless 4 setup and a double-pass grating compressor. Experimental results on the generation of optical vortices in the output beam of a 20 fs Ti:sapphire laser and the proof-of-principle measurements with a broadband-tunable cw Ti:sapphire laser confirm our theoretical predictions. This research was partially supported by the National

Flow oscillations occasionally seen on flow volume loops, referred to as a âsaw-toothâ sign, are thought to be due to an upper airway obstructive processes associated with upper airway collapsibility. Widely described in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, flow oscillations have also been linked to many other upper airway pathologies. The mechanism by which flow oscillations occur is centered on the inspiratory and expiratory flow of air. It has been theorized that the mechanism of flow oscillations result from rapid intermittent changes in driving pressure or airway resistance. Since visual inspection of the flow volume loop can reveal presence of flow oscillations clinicians should be aware of this phenomenon and the presence of flow loop oscillations should clue physicians to rule out upper airway pathology
CORRELATION BETWEEN COMPUTER VISION SYNDROME AND UPPER LIMB DISORDERS AT WIDYA MANDALA CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY SURABAYA
Background: The world of technology that continues to develop, especially in computer, makes workers spend more time operating electronic devices. This can contribute to eye strain which is one of the most common symptoms of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). CVS may associated with musculoskeletal disorders, especially at upper extremities due to non-ergonomic body position, which can be referred to as Upper Limb Disorders (ULD). Therefore, CVS can affect the severity of ULD.Purpose: To explain correlation between CVS with ULD to students at Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya. Methods: Analytics observational was the type of this research and the research design was cross sectional study.Result: The groups of respondents who experienced CVS with the severity of ULD on a scale 0 (A): no pain; scale 1 (B): moderately painful; scale 2 (C): painful; scale 3 (D): very painful were found to be 34.3%, 25%, 2.3% and 0%. And the groups of respondents who did not experience CVS with the severity of ULD on a scale 0 (A), scale 1 (B), scale 2 (C), and scale 3 (D) were found to be 35.5%, 2.9%, 0%, and 0%. Results from Spearman test found that the p=0.000 so thereâs a significant correlation between the two variables with a weak correlation coefficient (r=0,39).Conclussion: There was correlation between CVS and ULD with a weak correlation coefficient value in students at Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabay
Phase Retrieval for Partially Coherent Observations
Phase retrieval is in general a non-convex and non-linear task and the
corresponding algorithms struggle with the issue of local minima. We consider
the case where the measurement samples within typically very small and
disconnected subsets are coherently linked to each other - which is a
reasonable assumption for our objective of antenna measurements. Two classes of
measurement setups are discussed which can provide this kind of extra
information: multi-probe systems and holographic measurements with multiple
reference signals. We propose several formulations of the corresponding phase
retrieval problem. The simplest of these formulations poses a linear system of
equations similar to an eigenvalue problem where a unique non-trivial
null-space vector needs to be found. Accurate phase reconstruction for
partially coherent observations is, thus, possible by a reliable solution
process and with judgment of the solution quality. Under ideal, noise-free
conditions, the required sampling density is less than two times the number of
unknowns. Noise and other observation errors increase this value slightly.
Simulations for Gaussian random matrices and for antenna measurement scenarios
demonstrate that reliable phase reconstruction is possible with the presented
approach.Comment: 12 pages, 14 figure
Linear Phase Retrieval for Near-Field Measurements with Locally Known Phase Relations
A linear and thus convex phase retrieval algorithm for the application in
phaseless near-field far-field transformations is presented. The formulation
exploits locally known phase relations among sets of measurement samples, which
can in practice be acquired with multi-channel receivers. Due to the linearity
of the formulation, a reliable phaseless transformation is achieved, which
completely avoids the problem of local minima - the Achilles heel of most
existing phase retrieval techniques. Furthermore, the necessary number of
measurements are kept close to that of fully-coherent antenna measurements.
Comparisons with an already existing approach exploiting local phase relations
demonstrate the accuracy and reliability for synthetic data.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, 1 table, submitted to the 15th European

In situ source levels of mulloway (Argyrosomus japonicus) calls.
Mulloway (Argyrosomus japonicus) in Mosman Bay, Western Australia produce three call categories associated with spawning behavior. The determination of call source levels and their contribution to overall recorded sound pressure levels is a significant step towards estimating numbers of calling fish within the detection range of a hydrophone. The source levels and ambient noise also provide significant information on the impacts anthropogenic activity may have on the detection of A. japonicus calls. An array of four hydrophones was deployed to record and locate individual fish from call arrival-time differences. Successive A. japonicus calls produced samples at various ranges between 1 and 100âm from one of the array hydrophones. The three-dimensional localization of calls, together with removal of ambient noise, allowed the determination of source levels for each call category using observed trends in propagation losses and interference. Mean source levels (at 1âm from the hydrophone) of the three call categories were calculated as 163â±â16âdB re 1âÎŒPa for Category 1 calls (short call of 2â5 pulses); 172â±â4âdB re 1âÎŒPa for Category 2 calls (long calls of 11â32 pulses); and 157â±â5âdB re 1âÎŒPa for Category 3 calls (series of successive calls of 1â4 pulses, increasing in call rate)
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STRESS AND THE SLEEP QUALITY OF HEALTH WORKERS DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC
Psychological stress is the bodyâs way to cope with stressors. We are not able to evade stressors. In fact, we need stressors to keep ourselves going. So stress to an extent is a good thing. It is harmful when it becomes a distress, in which it starts to affect our bodily function, including our sleep quality. Psychological stress will activate the bodyâs HPA-axis and the sympathetic pathway of the autonomic nervous system, releasing hormones such as Cortisol and Catecholamine. These hormones can cause the disturbance of sleep. The aim of this study is to find the relation between the level of stress and the sleep quality in healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. PSS (Perceived Stress Scale) was used to calculate the level of stress and PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) was used to calculate sleep quality. In this study we found that the level of stress is related to sleep quality in healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The relation is positive, significant (P = 0.002), and moderate (r = 0.4). To conclude, there is a relation between stress and sleep in healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic
