Persistent Mullerian Duct Syndrome in a Post Orchideopexy Patient with Gyanaecomastia and Hypospadias: A Case Report
Persistent Mullerian Duct Syndrome (PMDS), a rare
form of male pseudohermaphroditism. It is
characterized by the persistence of Mullerian duct
structures (uterus, fallopian tubes and upper two-thirds
of vagina) in otherwise normally virilized males
(Karyotype 46XY). The exact cause of PMDS is not
known, however it is thought to result from the defect
of the synthesis or release of Mullerian inhibiting
factor (MIF) or from a MIF receptor defect. Herein we
report a case of PMDS with gynaecomastia and
hypospadias in a post orchidopexy patient
Female Urethral Anomalies in Pediatric Age Group: Uncovered
Female urethral anomalies such as epispadias and hypospadias have been rarely reported in the literature. Clinical diagnosis of female urethral anomalies is significant for management. Diagnosis may be missed leading to mismanagement of the clinical condition. Herein, we report a case of female epispadias and hypospadias managed by us at Tertiary Care Center.Key words: Epispadias, female urethral anomalies, hypospadia
Laparoscopic Assisted Transperitoneal Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy for Stones in Pelvic Kidney
The most common form of renal ectopy is pelvic
kidney and treating stone disease and achieving
complete stone clearance in such anatomical anomaly
is difficult. We report a case of patient with pain in left
iliac fossa and evaluation revealed left pelvic kidney
with multiple renal calculi. We describe the successful
management of calculi with laparoscopic assisted
Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in an ectopic
pelvic kidney, stressing that this method is minimally
invasive therapeutic option in ectopic nephrolithiasis
requiring precision and expertise as it is a technically
challenging and complex endourological procedure
and rarely performed
