A uracil nitroso amine based colorimetric sensor for the detection of Cu²⁺ ions from aqueous environment and its practical applications
A simple uracil nitroso amine based colorimetric chemosensor (UNA-1) has been synthesized and screened for its cation recognition ability. Sensor UNA-1 exhibited a high sensitivity and selectivity towards Cu²⁺ ions in aqueous medium in the presence of a wide range of other competing cations (Ag⁺, Al³⁺, Ba²⁺+, Ca²⁺, Cd²⁺, Co²⁺, Cr³⁺, Cs⁺, Fe²⁺, Fe³⁺, Li⁺, Mg²⁺, Mn²⁺, Na⁺, Ni²⁺, Pb²⁺, Zn²⁺, Hg²⁺ and Sr²⁺). With Cu²⁺, the sensor UNA-1 gave a distinct color change from colorless to dark yellow by forming a complex of 1:1 stoichiometry. Furthermore, sensor UNA-1 was successfully utilized in the preparation of test strips and supported silica for the detection of Cu²⁺ ions from aqueous environment
Computational Modeling of Thermoelastic Problems of a Thin Annular Disc
The paper is concerned with the inverse unsteady-state problem of thermolelastic deformation of a thin annular disc in the plane state of stress. Homogeneous boundary conditions of the third kind are maintained on curved surfaces of the disc while on the lower plane surface the heat flux is maintained at u(r, t) = 0which a known function of r and t is. The flux is prescribed also on the plane z = which serves as the interior condition. A mathematically this problem of determining the temperature, displacement and stress functions of a thin annular disc is studied. The finite Marchi-Zgrablich and Laplace transform techniques are used to find the solutions of the inverse transient themoelastic problems of a thin annular disc. Key words: Boundary value problems; Thermoelasticity; Heat conductio
Comparative Study on Cost Analysis, Strength of Concrete with Natural and Manufactured sand in Residential Building
The huge quantity of concrete is consumed by construction industry all over the world. This fact has forced the Government to laydown restrictions on sand quarrying process resulting in the scarcity and significant rise in its cost. The substitute and replacement of natural sand is by crushing natural stone it will easily get manufactured sand. In this Report we have considered Residential Building which has used different grade of concrete out of which the compressive strength analysis and cost analysis of M30 grade is studied
Foliar epidermal investigations in some hitherto unstudied Convolvulaceae-II
The present paper contributes to the anatomy of the family Convolvulaceae. In all, six genera and 10 species have been surveyed for epidermal features in detail. They have been investigated covering stomatal type, index, frequency and number of subsidiaries, cell wall contours and cuticular striations. The leaves are amphistomatic and have commonly paracytic types, apart from rare to occasional occurrence of other stomatal types and abnormalities
