THE POSSIBILITIES OF USING THE PROJECT METHOD IN EDUCATION AND WORK WITH YOUNG PEOPLE AT THE PRESENT TIME

Introduction. On the threshold of the era of knowledge-based society, the ongoing change of civilization types of culture, democratic processes in society, new requirements to education system and educational results dictate the need of reconsideration of the traditional, established approaches to training, education and organization of educational process and search for more effective didactic and managerial-pedagogical tools that are adequate to socio-economic and technological challenges. The aim of this publication is to analyze and discuss the possibilities and prospects of the project method in education and work with young people at the present stage.Methodology and research methods. Methodological framework of the article is based on the concepts of the activity and personally-focused education. The following types of analysis were applied: retrospective and comparative analysis of scientific sources and normative documents, including the local documents (accepted at the level of the general education organizations and the educational organizations of the higher education); qualitative analysis of experience and results of pedagogical activity.Results and scientific novelty. Origin of the project method is briefly described. The authors’ periodization version of the stage of restoration of this method in the Russian education is presented. The evolution of educational project technology and introduction of its various modifications depending on the purposes, thematic application and education level are observed. The benefits and unique resource potential of the project method for work with children and youth are outlined. In particular, it is stated that project activity regulates the sphere of personal interests of young people and motivates them for active participation in social processes; supports policy of the state on preparation of social and economic personnel reserve; also, project activity is aimed at the development of the social environment of various territories (regions, cities and villages) and improvement of the standard of living of citizens. This type of the practice-focused training contributes to successful socialization, promotes learning of necessary professional competences that provide competitiveness of a future expert; develops independence, commitment, responsibility and initiative. Practical significance. The present findings can be useful for managerial staff and specialists of the educational system and youth policy. Also, the research findings can be applied to work out and organize large-scale or local educational and social projects.Введение. Происходящая в настоящее время смена цивилизационных типов культуры в преддверии эпохи общества знаний, демократизационные процессы в социуме, новые требования к системе образования и образовательным результатам диктуют необходимость переосмысления традиционных, устоявшихся подходов к обучению, воспитанию и организации образовательного процесса и поиска более эффективного, отвечающего социально-экономическим и технологическим вызовам дидактического и управленческо-педагогического инструментария. Цель статьи – обсуждение возможностей и перспектив проектного метода в образовании и работе с молодежью на современном этапе.Методология и методы. Методологической базой работы послужили концепции деятельностного и личностно ориентированного обучения. В ходе исследования были задействованы ретроспективный и сравнительный виды анализа научных источников и нормативных документов, в том числе локального характера (принимаемых на уровне общеобразовательных организаций, образовательных организаций высшего образования), а также качественный анализ опыта и результатов педагогической деятельности.Результаты исследования и научная новизна. Кратко описана история обучения на основе метода проектов. Представлен авторский вариант периодизации этапа реставрации данного метода в отечественном образовании. Констатируется эволюция образовательной проектной технологии и появление различных ее модификаций в зависимости от целей, тематического приложения и уровня образования. Обозначены преимущества и уникальный ресурсный потенциал метода проектов для работы с детьми и молодежью. В частности, утверждается, что проектная деятельность регулирует сферу личных интересов молодых людей и мотивирует их к активному участию в социальных процессах; поддерживает политику государства по подготовке социально-экономического кадрового резерва; направлена на развитие социальной среды различных территорий (регионов, городов и сел) и повышение уровня жизни граждан. Данный вид практико-ориентированного обучения благоприятствует успешной социализации, способствует овладению необходимыми профессиональными компетенциями, обеспечивающими конкурентоспособность будущего специалиста; развивает самостоятельность, целеустремленность, ответственность и предприимчивость. Практическая значимость. Изложенные в статье соображения могут быть полезны руководителям и специалистам системы образования и сферы молодежной политики, а также разработчикам и организаторам крупномасштабных и локальных обучающих и социальных проектов

THE PRACTICES OF PROJECT-BASED LEARNING TECHNIQUE APPLICATION: EXPERIENCE OF DIFFERENT COUNTRIES

Introduction. In the educational systems of different countries, much experience has been gained regarding the use of project-based learning. This method is an alternative to traditional lecture-based learning: it helps to pull together a theoretical training material with real life; additionally, it changes the roles of pupils and teachers: students become active fully-competent subjects of an educational process, whereas teachers organize, supervise and direct this process, but do not transfer readily available information. The aim of the publication is an analytical review of the cases of application of project-based learning in Finland, France, Australia, China and the USA, which were described in the articles of foreign peer-reviewed journals. Methodology and research methods. The methodological framework of the present research is based on systemic and active approaches. The general scientific methods of comparative analysis, synthesis and generalization were applied. The case study method was chosen as a basic tool of the research.Results. A brief background to the history of the genesis and development of project-based learning is given. The emphasized features of various approaches to project-based learning application are different in their orientation towards the solution of certain tasks, as well as in the possibilities for selecting goals and means for implementing specific projects. The case studies in Finnish universities are worked out for the development of social skills of students; however, students can choose both the goals and tools of project activities by themselves. The industrial project method has gained a wide popularity in France; the method is focused on the market, therefore, the choice of the goals and instruments is made on account of the needs of a particular employer. The experience of some Australian universities shows that the project-based learning is used to develop professional skills; the choice of instruments occurs with an orientation towards the latest technological advances. In China the key objectives of the project-based learning are various social projects (for example, environmental projects) which are declared at the governmental level. A broad range of versions of project-based learning have been practised for more than one decade in the leading United States universities, colleges and schools: social competences of students are formed by the means of this method; there is an introduction of innovative technologies into educational process; partnerships are build between educational organizations and market; comprehensive ecological programs are created; etc. However, at this stage, the project-based learning is singled out for serious criticism; the analysis of previous experience and the search for solutions are conducted in order to increase the efficiency of education and improve academic performance of students. Scientific novelty. In the Russian Pedagogy, this paper is the first attempt for understanding and generalizing the experience of international project-based learning application. Practical significance. The materials of the publication provide a possibility for education administrators and educators-practitioners to get familiarized with the educational potential and a variety of approaches of project-based learning in order to adopt the best and most appropriate methods towards the Russian realias and the Russian educational institutions. Введение. В образовательных системах разных стран накоплен большой опыт по использованию проектного метода в обучении. Данный метод является альтернативой традиционному лекционному обучению: он помогает сблизить теоретический учебный материал с реальной жизнью; меняет роли учеников и учителей: обучающиеся становятся активными полноправными субъектами образовательного процесса, а педагоги организуют, курируют и направляют этот процесс, а не транслируют готовую информацию. Цель статьи – аналитический обзор описанных в зарубежных рецензируемых журналах вариантов реализации проектного обучения студентов Финляндии, Франции, Австралии, Китая и США. Методология и методы. Методологическую базу исследования составили идеи системного и деятельностного подходов; общенаучные методы сравнительного анализа, синтеза и обобщения. В качестве основного инструментария работы была избрана методика кейс-стади. Результаты исследования. Дан краткий экскурс в историю возникновения и развития проектного метода обучения. Выделены основные характеристики различных подходов к его применению, отличающиеся установками на решение определенных задач, выбором целей и средств осуществления учебных проектов. Кейсы вузов Финляндии разрабатываются прежде всего для развития социальных навыков обучающихся, при этом конкретные цели и инструменты проектной деятельности студенты вправе определять самостоятельно. Во Франции получил распространение индустриальный проектный метод, ориентированный на интересы рынка, поэтому выбор целей проектов и средств их достижения происходит исходя из потребностей работодателей. В австралийских вузах рассматриваемый метод используется для приобретения будущими специалистами профессиональных навыков; а предпочтения при выборе проектного инструментария отдаются последним технологическим новшествам. В Китае набирающее популярность проектное обучение направлено в первую очередь на решение социальных задач (например, экологических проблем), которые декларируются на государственном уровне. В американских университетах, колледжах и школах самые разнообразные версии проектного метода обучения практикуются не одно десятилетие. Посредством данного метода формируются социальные компетенции учащихся, происходит внедрение в учебный процесс инновационных технологий, устанавливаются партнерские связи между образовательными организациями и рынком, создаются комплексные экологические программы и т. д. Однако на данном этапе проектный метод в США подвергается серьезной критике, рефлексируется накопленный методический багаж и ведется поиск способов повышения эффективности обучения на основе проектов. Научная новизна. Статья является первой в российской педагогике попыткой осмысления и обобщения мирового опыта по применению проектного метода в образовании. Практическая значимость. Материалы публикации предоставляют возможность руководителям системы образования разных уровней и педагогам-практикам ознакомиться с потенциалом и многообразием практик проектного обучения, с тем чтобы перенять лучшие из них и наиболее приемлемые для российских реалий, адаптировав к условиям конкретных образовательных учреждений

ANALYSIS OF THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF GENERAL EDUCATION

Digital transformation of the society, boosted by the COVID-19 pandemic, has determined new processes in the socio-economic sphere. Foreign and domestic researchers are unanimous in their opinion that digitalization is the main trend of global development, and the need for digital transformation of education is preconditioned by organizational, technological, managerial, economic, and other changes taking place in various spheres of society, economy and production. Object of the study: the digital transformation process. Subject: general education. Goal: to identify the essence and characteristics of the implementation of digital transformation processes in general education. Objectives: to analyze the essence and semantic understanding of the "digital transformation" category; to describe the types and structure of the main processes of digital transformation in general education. Methods: methodological approaches: systemic approach; research methods: theoretical (analysis of information sources; comparative study; content analysis; generalization, systematization). Conclusions: there is no unity in the scientific attribution of the concepts of "digitalization of education", "digital transformation of education"; analysis of the prospects of digital transformation of general education indicates that its main positive effects may be as follows: ensuring equality of educational opportunities and continuity of education; updating the goals and content of education; optimizing forms, methods, teaching and methodological support of the educational process and the students’ learning and cognitive activities; creating conditions for personalized learning; increasing the effectiveness of quality control and monitoring; reducing the amount of routine work for management and teaching staff, etc.; based on the analysis of scientific research, the problem of information security of electronic educational resources used in general education has been identified; an analysis of the current situation on the software market is presented, and general recommendations on the protection of data recorded in electronic educational resources are give
