Folk Terminology Associated with Multipart Singing among Russians

    Get PDF
The article is devoted to folk singing terminology associated with multipart singing in Russian regional musical and folklore traditions. This terminology reveals a systemic character, since it directly correlates with the terms denoting the intonation types characteristic, on the one hand, of a broad (protyazhnΓ―y) style of singing, a clear representative of which is the genre of lyrical songs, and on the other hand, of lamentable intonation, which is due to the desire to emphasize the personal nature of the expressed feelings. The article discusses the types of multipart texture and functions of singers in an ensemble which have received terminological designations

The paper is devoted to understanding the provisions of the Penal Code of the Russian Federation concerning crimes against sexual inviolability and sexual freedom of the individual. The potential for using special knowledge of linguistics in the criminal investigation of such offenses is explored based on the analysis of the wording of relevant articles in the Code, determining the purpose of communication, characterizing interaction between communicating parties, and establishing the scope of linguistic expert competence.Π‘Ρ‚Π°Ρ‚ΡŒΡ посвящСна ΠΎΡΠΌΡ‹ΡΠ»Π΅Π½ΠΈΡŽ ΠΏΠΎΠ»ΠΎΠΆΠ΅Π½ΠΈΠΉ Π£Π³ΠΎΠ»ΠΎΠ²Π½ΠΎΠ³ΠΎ кодСкса Π Π€, ΠΊΠ°ΡΠ°ΡŽΡ‰ΠΈΡ…ΡΡ прСступлСний ΠΏΡ€ΠΎΡ‚ΠΈΠ² ΠΏΠΎΠ»ΠΎΠ²ΠΎΠΉ нСприкосновСнности ΠΈ ΠΏΠΎΠ»ΠΎΠ²ΠΎΠΉ свободы личности. The determination of the thermal properties of unconsolidated materials

    Get PDF
Heat transfer in a composite cylindrical region is considered. An approximate analytical solution of the direct problem is obtained. It is shown that, beginning at the instant t > t , the relative error of the solution obtained does not exceed 1%. On the basis of this, algorithms are constructed which enable inverse problems to be solved effectively. Examples of the use of the algorithms to determine the thermal properties of unconsolidated materials are presented. Β© 2012 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc

Opto-thermally controlled beam steering in nonlinear all-dielectric metastructures

    Get PDF
Reconfigurable metasurfaces have recently gained a lot of attention in applications such as adaptive meta-lenses, hyperspectral imaging and optical modulation. This kind of metastructure can be obtained by an external control signal, enabling us to dynamically manipulate the electromagnetic radiation. Here, we theoretically propose an AlGaAs device to control the second harmonic generation (SHG) emission at nanoscale upon optimized optical heating. The asymmetric shape of the used meta-atom is selected to guarantee a predominant second harmonic (SH) emission towards the normal direction. The proposed structure is concurrently excited by a pump beam at a fundamental wavelength of 1540 nm and by a continuous wave (CW) control signal above the semiconductor band gap. The optical tuning is achieved by a selective optimization of meta-atoms SH phase, which is modulated by the control signal intensity. We numerically demonstrate that the heating induced in the meta-atoms by the CW pump can be used to dynamically tune the device properties. In particular, we theoretically demonstrate a SH beam steering of 8Β° with respect to the vertical axis for an optimized device with average temperature increase even below 90Β° C

Genome analysis of Desulfotomaculum gibsoniae strain GrollT a highly versatile Gram-positive sulfate-reducing bacterium

    Get PDF
Desulfotomaculum gibsoniae is a mesophilic member of the polyphyletic spore-forming genus Desulfotomaculum within the family Peptococcaceae. This bacterium was isolated from a freshwater ditch and is of interest because it can grow with a large variety of organic substrates, in particular several aromatic compounds, short-chain and medium-chain fatty acids, which are degraded completely to carbon dioxide coupled to the reduction of sulfate. It can grow autotrophically with H2 + CO2 and sulfate and slowly acetogenically with H2 + CO2, formate or methoxylated aromatic compounds in the absence of sulfate. For growth it does not require any vitamins. Here, we describe the features of D. gibsoniae strain GrollT together with the genome sequence and annotation. The chromosome has 4,855,529 bp organized in one circular contig and is the largest genome of all sequenced Desulfotomaculum spp., so far. A total of 4666 candidate protein-encoding genes and 96 RNA genes were identified. Genes of the acetyl-CoA pathway possibly involved in heterotrophic growth, and in CO2 fixation during autotrophic growth are present. The genome contains a large set of genes for the anaerobic transformation and degradation of aromatic compounds, which are lacking in the other sequenced Desulfotomaculum genomes.DOE -U.S. Department of EnergyThe work conducted by the U.S. Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute was supported by the Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy under Contract No. DE-AC02-05CH11231, and was also supported by grants CW-TOP 700.55.343, ALW 819.02.014 of the Netherlands Science Foundation (NWO), ERC (project 323009), and BE-Basic (project F07.002.03)

ORGANIZATION OF ANTI-EPIDEMIC MEASURES DURING THE ANTHRAX OUTBREAK IN THE YAMALO-NENETS AUTONOMOUS DISTRICT IN 2016

The organizational peculiarities of anti-epidemic measures during the anthrax outbreak in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District in 2016 are presented. Complex of these measures provided for anthrax patients active identification and hospitalization, preventive immunization and emergency antibiotic prophylaxis of risk groups, vaccination of reindeer, utilization of fallen animals. Disinfection, deratization and desinsection measures were performed. Native residents were evacuated from infection focus and sensitization campaign among the population was carried out. Organized were sanitary inspection stations and temporary accommodation points. Due to operational implementation of anti-epidemic measures in the interagency format the anthrax focus was localized within one incubation period

Russian Folk Culture in the 20 th Century: Oral Evidence of the Villagers (On the Materials of Folklore Expeditions)

    No full text
Folk culture is capable of developing certain adaptation mechanisms that help it promptly react to the changing conditions of natural, socio-political, and economic environment. This is evidenced by the stories of the villagers recorded during folklore expeditions to different regions of Russia. The article highlights changes that took place in the traditional Russian culture under the influence of collectivization in the 1920s–1930s, the collapse of kolkhozes in the 1990s, the development of the rural club amateur performances in the Soviet time, the events of the World War II, modern military conflicts, and Chernobyl ecological catastrophe. The authors come to conclusion that representatives of traditional culture flexibly adapt to their new living conditions, while extreme conditions such as wars and ecological catastrophes often contribute to the actualization of folk culture and enable the return of its certain aspects to living practice
