Kögerler P, Williams PAM, Parajon-Costa BS, et al. Crystal structure, spectroscopic, magnetochemical, thermoanalytical and electrochemical properties of binuclear copper(II) complexes of Suprofen. INORGANICA CHIMICA ACTA. 1998;268(2):239-248.The crystal structure of the binuclear Cu(II) complex [Cu(Sup)(2)CH3CN](2) (Sup = deprotonated Suprofen), obtained by ligand exchange between [Cu(Sup)(2)H2O](2) and acetonitrile, has been solved by single crystal X-ray diffractometry. It exhibits the typical structural characteristics common to other dimeric Cu(II) complexes bridged by carboxylate ligands. IR and Raman spectra of the two complexes have been analyzed in detail and assigned on the basis of the structural data. Electronic spectra of the solid aquo-complex and its acetonitrile and methanol solutions were also recorded and discussed. Its magnetic susceptibility has been investigated between 5 and 400 K, and complemented with electron spin resonance measurements. Thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis data, obtained in oxygen atmosphere, are also reported. The electrochemical behavior has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry, in methanolic and acetonitrilic solutions. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A
