    Factors Affecting HIV/AIDS Stigma in Nursing Students

    HIV/AIDS stigma is recognized as a barrier to prevention, treatment, the process of socialization, and support. Manifestations of HIV stigma include any prejudice, humiliation, or discrimination directed within the family, community, institution, discriminatory laws or policies, or through self-stigma (internalized). This study aimed to identify factors affecting HIV/AIDS stigma in nursing students. This study used a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling and was conducted in a nursing academy in East Jakarta, Indonesia. The sample was 153 respondents in the nursing academy. Data were collected using the International AIDS Questionnaire-Chinese Version (IAQ-C) to identify the knowledge of respondents and the AIDS-Related Stigma Scale to identify stigma. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal Wallis test, and Spearman correlation test. 85.6% of respondents were female, 37.9% were 3rd grade, 62.7% had no partner, 64.1% were quite religious, 94.44% were heterosexual, and 90.91% of the males and 93.73% of the females did not have any sexual experience. The mean age was 20.11 years, the mean knowledge score was 58.41, and the mean stigma score was 10.02. 87.58% of respondents knew information about HIV-AIDS from the internet. There was a significant relationship between sexual experience and HIV/AIDS stigma (p-value = 0.047), and between attitude and HIV/AIDS stigma (p-value = 0.007) in the nursing students. There was no significant impact of age (p-value = 0.298), gender (p-value = 0.397), relationship status (p-value = 0.769), or knowledge (p-value = 0.065).     Application of Acupressure in Reducing Pruritus Scale in Hemodialysis Patients

    Pruritus is a common problem in patients with chronic kidney disease who undergo dialysis. It is characterized by an uncomfortable sensation that leads to scratching. Acupressure is a complementary method used to manage various symptoms and health problems, including pruritus. This study aims to identify the effect of acupressure at the LI-11 point in reducing pruritus in a hemodialysis patient. This study used pre-experimental research with pre- and post-test without control. This study occurs in a hemodialysis unit in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. The sample was comprised of 19 respondents in the hemodialysis unit who met the inclusion criteria and completed the study. Respondents received acupressure in the LI-11 point two times per week for four weeks for a total of eight sessions. Data were collected using individual characteristics questionnaire, pruritus characteristics, and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pruritus. The data analysis used was a dependent t-test. The majority of respondents were male with duration of hemodialysis 5 hours, mean of age 53 years, mean of length of HD is 53 months, mean of Hb level is 9.67 gr/dl, mean of urea level is 117.05 mg/dl, mean of creatinine is 10.26 mg/dl. The results indicate that acupressure has a significant effect in reducing of pruritus scale (p-value 0,000).     PENGANTAR PENELITIAN PENDIDIKAN (Sebuah Tinjauan Teori dan Praktis)

    Penelitian (research) diartikan sebagai upaya atau cara kerja yang sistematik untuk menjawab permasalahan atau pertanyaan dengan jalan mengumpulkan data dan merumuskan generalisasi berdasarkan data tersebut. sedangkan Pendidikan merupakan pembelajaran pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kebiasaan sekelompok orang yang diturunkan dari satu generasi ke generasi berikutnya melalui pengajaran, pelatihan, atau penelitian. Maka Penelitian pendidikan merupakan proses pencarian ilmu yang diharapkan bermanfaat dalam mengembangkan teori baru dan menyelesaikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan isu-isu pendidikan yang Kemudian dijadikan sebagai suatu proses yang sistematis untuk memperoleh pengetahuan (to discover knowledge) dan pemecahan masalah (problem solving) pendidikan melalui metode ilmiah, baik dalam pengumpulan maupun analisis datanya, serta membuat rumusan generalisasi berdasarkan penafsiran data tersebut. Penelitian pendidikan sungguh penting dan sangat diperlukan pada setiap organisasi pendidikan. Penelitian pendidikan diharapkan bermanfaat dalam mengembangkan teori baru dan mampu memberikan alternatif solusi pemecahan masalah yang berkaitan dengan isu-isu pendidikan saat ini. Oleh sebab itu buku ini hadir kehadapan sidang pembaca sebagai bagian dari upaya diskusi sekaligus dalam rangka melengkapi khazanah keilmuan dibidang pendidikan, sehingga buku ini sangat cocok untuk dijadikan bahan acuan bagi kalangan intelektual dilngkungan perguruan tinggi ataupun praktisi yang berkecimpung langsung dibidang pendidikan
