Ship is water vehicle with any shape and any purpose, mechanically powered or by windvor tug and categorized as a multipurpose platform. It could be operated underwater or in the surface of water and could function merely as a floating static structure. The natural condition is the fish catching area are unpredictable as the wave an current of the water could disturbing the maneuverability and the stabilty of the ship. For that purpose the fish catching ship should have and meet the criterion of robust construction and strong structure to deal with the extreme condition in the sea and also should have a good maneuverability and enough power to make it move steadily. The total lenght of the sample ship Tersanjung are 15.85 m, the width are 2.90 m and inside the ship measured as 1.32 m. The average comparison among the 3 parameters are 5.50 for L/B, 13.05 for L/D and 2.37 for B/D. The coefficient of the Tersanjung ship are Cb=0.58, Cp=0.96, C =0.60 and Cw=0.87. “Tersanjung” ship has reverse velocity 3.7 second (1 perod). Maximum rolling reaching at 120 with righting moment of 0.21 m

Moonfish (Mene maculata) known locally as bete tamako or peda Cina, is one of the economically important fish resources resulting from Buyat Bay. Although it has relatively small size (estimated length 25-30 cm), but the fish has a good taste. The presence of moonfish is usually a sign of sailfish fishing season in the Buyat Bay. Common fishing gear used to catch moonfish is hand line , noru. However, scientific information about the status of moonfish fishery was not yet understood. Therefore, this study aims to determine the status of moonfish fishery and map out the fishing location. This research was conducted in the Buyat Bay, Ratatotok District, Southeast Minahasa Regency (March-September 2013); using a survey method with a descriptive approach. Catch data were analyzed by a surplus production model. These results informed that the maximum sustainable yields (MSYs) was 1707 fish/trip/year where the number of the suitable fishing trips was 470 trips

The uncertainty of ocean conditions, such as currents and waves, affects the maneuver ability and stability of vessel on the water. For this reason, a fishing vessel should fulfil specific prerequisites, such as strong vessel construction, good stability to extreme oceanic conditions, good maneuver ability, and thrust. “Aldeis” boat has a dimension of 15.50 m long, 2.80 m wide, and 1.10 m deep. Average ratio of those parameters was 5.50 for L/B, 13.05 for L/D and 2.37 for B/D, rspectively. The coefficient values of the boat shape were Cb = 0.54 for Cb, Cp = 0.73 for Cp, 0.74 for C and 0.79 for C3, respectively. The boat possessed a maximum shakes to 140 of the boat slant when the righting arm was at 0.20 m of the center point

Profil Salinitas Dan Suhu Di Teluk Manado Pada Hari-hari Hujan Dan Tidak Hujan

Salinity and temperature measurements were carried out on rainy days and non rainy days in two locations in Manado Bay, which is the outlet of fresh water masses from five main rivers, to investigate vertical profiles of salinity and temperature, and the thickness of the fresh water layer. Same day salinity and temperature profiles in both places is similar. On rainy days, the average salinity in the surface layer was 33.9, 0.3 lower than that of non rainy days. The surface salinity is equivalent to the thickness of the freshwater layer thickness of 0.45 m. In the surface layer, the temperature profile is quite similar. However, in the deeper layers, the temperature oscillates at different phases according to the increasing depths
