Beyond-the-Quark-Model Heavy Hadrons from QCD Sum Rules
In this thesis, we examine three papers that my coauthors and I have published. The overarching theme of this work will be the use of QCD Laplace sum rules applied to quarkonium
or quarkonium-like systems containing heavy quarks in an attempt to explore ideas relating
to beyond-the-quark-model hadrons, including hybrids (mesons with gluonic content) and
multi-quark meson-like states.
In the first two papers [1, 2], we study mixing between conventional mesons and hybrids
in vector and axial vector charmonium-like and bottomonium-like systems. We compute
meson-hybrid cross-correlators within the operator product expansion, including condensate
contributions up to dimension-six. We then use the measured masses of heavy quarkoniumlike states as inputs into a QCD Laplace sum-rules calculation to probe known resonances
for nonzero coupling to both the conventional meson and hybrid currents. Nonzero coupling
to both of these currents would signal meson-hybrid mixing. We find nonzero mixing in a
number of resonances over all four of the mass spectra which we probed. The results from
both [1] and [2] are collected and discusses in section 2.7.
In the third paper [3], constituent mass predictions for axial vector cc and bb diquarks
are generated using QCD Laplace sum-rule methods. We calculate the diquark correlator within the operator product expansion to next-to-leading-order, including condensate
contributions up to dimension-six. We find that the constituent mass of the cc diquark is
(3.51 Ā± 0.35) GeV and the constituent mass of the bb diquark is (8.67 Ā± 0.69) GeV. We then
use these diquark constituent masses as inputs to calculate several tetraquark masses within
the Type-II chromomagnetic interaction diquark-antidiquark tetraquark model. The results
from the calculations done in [3] are collected in section 3.3
Kako je VitezoviÄ Äitao MrnaviÄa
Plorantis Croatiae saecula duo (1703) by Pavao Ritter Vitezovic (1652-1713) and Vita Petri Berislavi (1620) by Ivan Tomko Mrnavic (1580-1637), two significant works in the Croatian literary corpus written in Latin that deal with important historical characters and events from Croatian history with the explicit intent of preserving them from oblivion, have unjustifiably been omitted from the national literary canon. Following recent scholarly interest in these works in the last fifteen years or so, this paper reinvestigates and confirms intertextual references, with special emphasis on Vitezovic\u27s relation to Mrnavic. The article focuses on determining traces and re-stylizations of parts of the Vita in around sixty lines of verse from the first canto of the Two Centuries of Croatia in Mourning, which are shown to be a complete episode, paradigmatic in its ideological concept for the whole poetic work.Plorantis Croatiae saecula duo (1703.) Vector Charmonium Meson-Hybrid Mixing: a Field Theoretical Analysis
Quantum chromodynamics (QCD) is the quantum ļ¬eld theory describing strong interactions.
Hybrids in QCD, which are bound states consisting of a charm and an anticharm quark
with a constituent gluon, have been theorized for some time. In this thesis we begin to
explore the idea that perhaps these particles exist as quantum mechanical superpositions
of hybrid and pure mesonic states (which are bound states consisting of a quark and an
antiquark). In particular, we will be interested in vector charmonium (charm-anticharm)
meson-hybrid mixing. Here we do a ļ¬eld theoretical analysis of charmonium meson-hybrid mixing in the JPC = 1āā channel; the two point cross-correlator has been calculated to
leading order in the strong coupling (Ī±s). We include the perturbative, four dimensional
and six dimensional condensate contributions. The perturbative contribution was found
to contain non-polynomial divergences which were addressed through the introduction of
operator mixing. The results of this calculation are presented in a form that is ready for a

Bas relief of kolo* on medieval tombstones
Uz to namjerava preispitivati rezultate dosadaÅ”njih prouÄavanja i utvrditi nove rezultate.
The article analyses the pictogram of kolo on the representative late medieval tombstones, commonly referred to as stecak, from the perspective of the contemporary art tradition and esoteric texts, trying to decode their obscure original meaning. In such relationships, it is noted that different stylizations of kolo are presented in the manuscripts with both profane and spiritual contents, that is, their semantic extension is conditioned by the context. In this regard, the paper shows that numerous miniatures of kolo on the pages of the Novel on Alexander appear as the stylizations of fair and court feasts of illuminator\u27s contemporaries, that the dance in The Romance of the Rose is actually an allegory of youth controlled by the flying Cupid. Also, in lavishly illuminated psalters, the apocalypse, Christian moralist codes, capitals and portals of Romanesque churches, the works of famous Italian painters of the 14th and 15th C., the form of kolo or dance, clearly shows saints, blesseds and angels in heavenly bliss.
As stecak belongs to funerary medieval European culture that was shaped within recognizable Christian eschatology, the article aims to match the pictorial symbols on the individual monuments to the esoteric meaning and value of the symbolic sign from the perspective of the art tradition. Typical Christian symbols such as palm twig or different versions of the cross in the hands of the dancers or with the picture of kolo, additionally intensify such meaning. The article shows that some of the bas reliefs were products of the sculptor\u27s inventiveness, in which he depicted the basic representation of two angels with a raised cross or a cross-shaped sword known as the crux triunfans, with new silhouettes spread all over the stone or on the lateral sides of the monument as in Troskots near Mostar, or doubled as in the necropolis near Vostane. The representations of kolo with the scenes of duel are interpreted in the article as symbolic signs which, by combining agonists and inlixes, suggest Christian hope to save the soul of the deceased after its struggle with sin.
The article is particularly concerned with the play of four dancers on the Jerko Kustrazic\u27s tombstone from Cista, which was conveyed in various stylizations to the monuments of Trilj, Makarska and Boljuni, and claims that original inspiration was found in the biblical story of the prophet Daniel about the three Jewish youths who the angel of the Lord saved from the burning stove, relying on early medieval art illustrations of the same theme and their esoteric Christian meaning
Allegoric codes in the XIII canto of Marko MaruliÄ the Davidias
MaruliÄās statement that he recounted āthe works of king David by remaining faithful to their record depicted in the holy booksā has been accepted and interperted in the recent critiqual responses in the sense that the author of the Davidias faithfully adhered to the books of kings and the biblical tradition. Examining this assertion in the XIII canto, this paper reveals clear traces of other texts too, especially psalms, whose contents were over stylized by respecting the hundred years long reading tradition and interpretation of psalms to holy fathers and teachers. Given that this is a clear sign of allegoric codes in the text and not only in its annex titled āThe allegoric interpretation of the Davidias,ā this intertextual analysis examines the sections inspired by sacred meanings of an exegetic explanation of biblical events portraying king David, that is, the poetās personal contributions to that tradition. To that end, the paper demonstrates that the allegoric discourse in the actual verses complements the discourse of the Allegoric interpretation and that the poet ā in versifying the biblical paradigm ā christianised some events to make them acceptable for the allegoric reading and experience, and that his syntagm about the holy books refers to not only to the biblical texts but also those of the New Testament as well as holy fathers and teachers
