    Authorship Pattern of 21st Century Data Science Research: A Scientometric Evaluation

    The present study tries to focus on the various facets of authorship pattern in data science during 2001-2018. Annual growth rate of articles, authorship pattern, author productivity rate, degree of collaboration, author collaboration network visualization and finally the application of Lotka’s law are the major thrust of this research. The highest AGR 46.43% was noticed in the year 2016 followed by 39.53% in 2014 and 37.67% in 2015. The lowest AGR -20.75% was noticed in the year 2002. Only 21.83% articles were published by single author whereas 78.17% articles contributed by two or more than two authors. The lowest AAPP was 2.25 with highest PPA was 0.44 observed in the year 2015. On the other side, highest AAPP at 3.88 with lowest PPA at 0.25 is seen in the year 2002. The study reflects that overall Degree of Collaboration is 0.78 that indicates large number of collaboration among the authors. The highest Collaborative Index 5.06 is seen in the year 2001 and minimum Collaborative Index 2.63 is in the year 2015. Seventy authors with greatest total link strength have been represented through VOSviewer’s author collaboration network. Finally it can be mentioned that the data set derived from this research largely follows Lotaka’s law of author productivity

    Scientometric Portrait of Child Sexual Abuse Research in 21st Century India

    Abstract: Sexual abuse during childhood can destroy the backbone of a society because children are the future citizens. Significant research in this area is desirable to increase awareness against this heinous crime. The present scientometric study has been conducted to present the growth of research in this subject domain in India. Data analysis reveals that among the total 300 articles published on this topic, the highest number of publications i.e. 42 was published in 2015 and year 2001 has published only 2 articles. Journal articles were the highest in number among different types of publication. According to chronological distribution of citation, the highest number of citation i.e. 5690 was published in 2012 and lowest number of citations i.e. 12 was published in 2018. Finally there is a positive relationship between time and growth of citation. Overall Degree of Collaboration (C) among the authors i.e. 0.87 indicates large number of collaborative works among the authors is observable. This article also represents source title wise publication where Indian Journal of Psychiatry has received maximum number of publications

    Webometric Analysis of Open Universities in India

    Web Impact Factor (WIF), Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ranking improve the visibility of a website’s presence in the online environment. The present study predominantly focuses on the WIFs of the Indian Open University websites. Calculating three types of web impact factors it has been found that among the selected Open Universities Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik holds the numero uno status in Simple and Internal-link WIFs with SWIF 0.2214 and IWIF 0.2092. In case of External-link Web Impact Factor (EWIF) Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU), Kolkata holds the rank one position with EWIF of 9.9750. Among the websites IGNOU holds the best global rank i.e. 4439 and it has the 2nd best Indian rank also i.e. 349. This Open University is followed by KSOU in the global ranking i.e. 4517. KSOU holds the best Indian rank i.e.270. IGNOU has the maximum number of backlinks i.e. 1265605. The website of KSOU having domain authority of 59, ranks highest YCMOU ranks lowest by obtaining 29 out of a total of 100 points. In case of page authority, the website of IGNOU ranks first with page authority score of 59 followed by the UOU having score of 51. Again the least score (35) is obtained by the YCMOU in page authority

Using various online SEO tools websites of these institutes have been analysed. Gujarat Institute of Development Research holds the numero uno status on the basis of Simple Web Impact Factor (0.6736) and Internal-link Web Impact Factor (0.6551). Institute for Studies in Industrial Development holds the rank one position on the basis of External-link Web Impact Factor of 0.0404. Centre for Policy Research with 53 Domain Authority score and Page Authority score of 49 tops the list in both cases and signifies the website’s good rank on search engine result pages. Search engines often display the meta description in search results where they can highly influence user click-through rates but it is reallyunfortunate that out of the 29 institutes only 6 have used meta tags in their websites. Giri Institute of Development Studies and Centre for Development Studies hold the top ranks in SEO score and speed score categories respectively. Centre for Policy Research with the GPR of 3,52,513 tops the list among all the institutes. Link topology of the websites reflects that Giri Institute of Development Studies (gids.org.in) is linked with 5 other research institutes
