VIRGIL MADGEARU (1887-1940) FOUNDER OF THE ROMANIAN MANAGEMENT

    Get PDF
Characterized by eclectism and depth of scientific rigor, Professor Virgil Madgearu performed a remarkable activity in the economic sciences. Analyzing the efforts, the teaching and scientific work of the Romanian professor, his areas of expertise come off: economics, management, finance, sociology, cooperative work and study. We also found a major contribution to shaping a new discipline for those times, namely, the management of commercial and industrial companies. Realizing the importance of developing modern managerial skills among Romanian economists and leaders, Virgil Madgearu was the first who wrote, taught university courses and published the first technical and business theory, laying the foundations of science management.economic sciences, management of commercial and industrial companies, Virgil Madgearu.

    The Informatics Audit

The demand for qualitative and reliable information in order to support decision-making is continuously increasing. On the other hand, the cost of software production and maintenance is raising dramatically as a consequence of the increasing complexity of software systems and the need for better designed and user friendly programs. The huge amount of data the organizations face needs human, financial, and material resources to collect, checks, analyze and use it. All these aspects impose to develop activities in order to obtain better outcomes with less resources. The Informatics Audit is one of such kind of activities. This paper presents some Informatics Audit basic concepts.it audit, software cost, maintenance, system complexity

FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT (FDI) IN ROMANIA

    Get PDF
This paper analyzes some characteristics of economic and econometricliterature in the field of FDI after 1990, in Romania, as well as some specific issues in the process of practical modelling. A more detailed presentation of John Harry Dunning’s eclectic theory and a simple presentation of the theory of de-investment complete the general theoretical presentation of FDI. A first problem after the definition, life cycle, similarities and differences betweenportfolio and direct foreign investment, after the benefits of FDI, is given by the outstanding dynamics and structure of FDI. Some characteristic features of the value oscillation and structural dynamics of gross capital formation (GCF), gross capital fixed capital formation (GFCF) and gross domestic savings (GDS) in GDP are relevant for the specificity of the phenomenon of FDI in Romania after 1990

STUDY ON EXPERT STATUS IN THE EUROPEAN JUDICIAL SYSTEM

In some European countries, expert status is defined by the legislation, whereas, inothers, by the membership of a professional group or specialized institution under theMinistry of Justice and Police, this subordination being of a financial nature, withoutaffecting the expertise itself. This article contain a point of view regarding the European judicial system, the termexpert’s different meanings and the criteria that define an expert’s status and which aredifferent from one state to another

PARTICULARITIES OF THE HEARING TACTICS IN THE CASE OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

    Get PDF
This paper attempts to polarize the attention of the judicial authorities of theRomanian State on the complex issues raised by the hearing of persons with special needsfrom two perspectives, that of compliance with the criminal procedural framework and that ofthe observance of human rights. It also aims to provide practical solutions that mightfacilitate communication with such persons depending on their type of disability and solve theproblem of accessibility in the investigator-citizen relationship. Modern approaches in thespecialized literature grant an increasingly wider space to knowing the accused or thedefendant’s personality, adapting the investigator’s speech to this reference point andindividualizing the ways of relating throughout the judicial investigation. Moreover, a specificpattern of the personality of the criminal investigation body is outlined, through the psychointellectualand moral-affective qualities of the person leading the investigation that mightensure the success of this judicial approach specific to the hearing of people with specialneeds

Estimating Time Consumption and Productivity of Roundwood Skidding in Group Shelterwood System – a Case Study in a Broadleaved Mixed Stand Located in Reduced Accessibility Conditions

    Get PDF
In Romanian forestry, skidders represent the most used equipment for wood extraction, while the group shelterwood system is one of the most used silvicultural forest management strategies. Production rates are important indicators when trying to assess the efficiency of a process, since they can be used in different practical applications, starting with operational planning and ending with energetic analyses or LCA studies. The reduced accessibility of forest stands is one of the main problems of Romanian forestry, and therefore a lot of time and energy is usually spent in harvesting operations. In the present days, it has become very important to know the effects of these operational conditions. In order to evaluate the effects of very long skidding distances on the time inputs and productivity, a time study was conducted for a Romanian skidder that operated in a mixed hardwood stand located in Central Romania, where group shelterwood cuttings were applied. We found out that the time input of a winching work cycle was most affected by winching distance and the number of logs, and developed time consumption models for the main groups of operations. For the mean conditions (winching distance of 8.7 m, mean skidding distance of 1706.3 m, a load volume of 4.89 m and 6.48 logs per turn) the net and gross production rates were of 4.41 m3/h and 3.12 m3/h, respectively. The results of this study may be helpful in operational costing or harvesting planning when dealing with reduced accesibility conditions

Molecular Features of Virulence and Resistance Mechanisms in Nosocomial and Community-Acquired Staphylococcus aureus

    Get PDF
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains are known for their emergent multi-drug resistance phenotypes, implication in nosocomial infections and outbreaks worldwide, being commonly associated with hospital-acquired MRSA (HA-MRSA) and community-acquired MRSA (CA-MRSA) skin and soft tissue infections. S. aureus causes a wide spectrum of clinical symptoms, ranging from mild to life-threatening diseases; disease severity is determined by microorganism-related virulence factors and host condition. The ability of these strains to form microbial biofilms, one of the main pathogenicity factors, generates difficult medical problems, favored by the widespread use of large invasive medical procedures (probes, catheters, heart valves, prostheses). Contamination of these devices is associated with the risk of subsequent development of human infections. The knowledge of virulence and antibiotic resistance patterns of HA-MRSA and CA-MRSA and encoding genes are very important for supporting effective infection control measures and therapy of staphylococcal infections

Isolation of a Lactobacillus plantarum strain used for obtaining a product for the preservation of fodders

    Get PDF
An important problem in the field of animal nutrition is the preservation of fodder, which is done in silos for maintaining the nutritive value of the fodders. In anaerobic conditions, the lactic bacteria ferment the glucosides in the silo, leading to the formation of lactic acid and acetic acid, which cause the pH to decrease and inhibit the development of butyric bacteria. The enrichment of the ensiled fodders with probiotic products confers on them the role of maintaining a microbial flora inside the digestive tract favourable to animal health.African Journal of Biotechnology Vol. 4 (5), pp. 403-408, 200
