Catalytic dehydrocyclization of azomethines. Synthesis of substituted indoles and 4(5)-azaindoles

Catalytic dehydrocydization of azomethines obtained by condensation of p-toluidine and also 3(4)-aminopyridines with methyl aryl ketones leads to substituted indoles and pyrrolopyridine isomers with the nitrogen atom at different positions in the six-membered ring in 20-40% yield. ©1996 Plenum Publishing Corporation

1-Hydroxy- and 1-nitroso-2,5-dimethylpiperid-4-ones and their derivatives

Derivatives of 1-hydroxy-2,5-dimethylpiperid-4-one substituted at the hydroxy and the carbonyl groups have now been prepared and the IR spectra of some of them have been studied. 1-Nitroso-2,5-dimethylpiperid-4-one has been prepared from 2,5-dimethylpiperid-4-one and subjected to various reactions at the nitroso- and the carbonyl groups. Basicity constants of isomeric azafluorenes and their derivatives

Data are given for the first time on the measurement of basicity constants of the isomeric azafluorenes and their derivatives, which enable a study of the effect of this property on the relationship of the geometric isomers of substituted fluorenes and azomethines obtained from azafluorenes and their keto derivatives

Noncondensed polypiperidine systems

The synthesis of noncondensed dipiperidylbenzene and tripiperidyl systems has been effected. Some derivatives of compounds of this series have been obtained. © 1972 Consultants Bureau

Mass spectrometric study of 2-keto(thio)tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives

The fragmentation pathways of 2-keto(thio)-6-methyl-5-carbethoxy(acetyl)-4-aryl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidines were established using high resolution mass spectra and DADI spectra. An unusual rearrangement was observed, which involves cyclization of the aryl substituent in the 4 position with the oxygen of an ester group and elimination of a C2H5 radical. © 1989 Plenum Publishing Corporation
