A Sigatoka negra, causada pelo fungo Mycosphaerella fijiensis (fase anamórfica: Paracercospora fijiensis (Morelet) Deighton, é a doença mais grave da bananeira, causando perdas de 100% da produção, quando não se efetua o controle.
