    PRODUCTION OF MONOGLYCERIDES AND DIGLYCERIDES THROUGH LIPASE-CATALYZED GLYCEROLYSIS AND MOLECULAR DISTILLATION. Monoacilglycerides and diacilglycerides are produced through lipase-catalyzed glycerolysis of soybean oil using Candida antarctica B in a solvent-free system. The reaction was carried Out at a glycerol to triacylglycerol molar ratio of 8:1 with 2% of lipase. Acylglycerides, free fatty acids (FFA) and glycerol produced were separated employing the molecular distillation process. Starting from a product of enzymatic reaction 25.06% of triacylglycerols, 46.63% of diacylglycerides. 21.72% of monoacylglycerides, 5.38% of FFA and 1.21% of glycerol and after consecutively distillations. monoacylglycerides with 80% of purity was obtained and also oil with 54% of diacylglycerides to be used in human dietary.3261539154

The water content in fuels can be classified in free, emulsionated, and soluble water. High water content in biodiesel and diesel can cause problems such as water accumulation and microbial growth in fuel tanks and transportation equipment. Currently, there is a lack of information on water absorbance in biodiesel and biodiesel/diesel blends. Experiments were conducted to determine the water absorbance of biodiesel and biodiesel-diesel fuel blends evaluating the temperature and blend ratio parameters. Soluble water in biodiesel ranged from (1500 to 1980) mg.kg(-1) in the temperature range of (283.15 to 323.15) K, which was 10 to 15 times higher than diesel. Results also showed that, at constant relative humidities, biodiesel absorbed 6.5 times more moisture than diesel.     Effect of operating conditions on the concentration of monoglycerides using molecular distillation

    In this work, one-factor-at-a-time experiments and factorial design were carried out in order to study the effect of operating conditions on the monoglycerides (MG) concentration using molecular distillation (MD) process in laboratory scale. Therefore, producers of distilled MG can use the results obtained here to optimize industrial plants. Firstly, a 2(4-1) factorial design was employed to select the most important operating variables of the process. Among the four variables studied, evaporator temperature (ET), feed flow rate (Q), feed temperature (FT) and condenser temperature (CT), just ET and Q are important at the experimental conditions studied. Furthermore, using empirical models and experimental data, it is shown the dependence of the outlet stream compositions to ET and Q, which were selected from the fractional factorial design.85A111524152
