Srfe12o19 Prepared By The Proteic Sol-gel Process

    No full text
Powders of strontium hexaferrite (SrFe12O19) were prepared by the proteic sol-gel process using coconut water as a precursor. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement showed the formation of SrFe12O19 with a small amount of the hematite for the sample calcined at 1000 °C with Fe/Sr=12. Rietveld refinement disclosed that this sample had 87.56% of the SrFe12O19 and 12.44% of Fe2O3 and the values for Rp, Rwp and χ2 were 4.28%, 5.93% and 1.71, respectively. The magnetic properties were Ms=64 emu/g, Mr/Ms=0.55 and Hc=1.4 kOe for a crystallite size of 57 nm. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.38401/02/159193Ataie, A., Heshmati-Manesh, S., (2001) J.
