This paper analyzes a discrete-time finite buffer renewal input queue with multiple working vacations where services are performed in batches of maximum size “b”. The service times both during a regular service period and vacation period and vacation times are geometrically distributed. Employing the supplementary variable and imbedded Markov chain techniques, we derive the steady-state queue length distributions at pre-arrival, arbitrary and outside observer’s observation epochs. Based on the queue length distributions, some performance measures and waiting time distribution in the queue have been discussed. Finally, numerical results showing the effect of model parameters on the key performance measures are presented

Seroprevelence of transfusion transmissible infection at regional blood transfusion center Government General Hospital/Government Medical College, Nalgonda 2018-2020

Background: Blood Transfusion is the integral part of modern medicine and surgical procedures. Blood transfusion saves many people every year that would otherwise have died because of various natural diseases and disasters. But unsafe blood transfusion has the potential to transmit a diverse of infections to blood recipients. These infections could be due to viruses, bacteria, protozoans, and/or prions. Viral agents include human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Hepatitis C virus (HCV)[1,2]. HIV, HCV, HBV and VDRL are preventable diseases. A fundamental part and priority transfusion transmitted infections is to notify and counsel reactive donors. To prevent secondary transmission of infectious disease. Method: ELISA is highly sensitive and specificity test. All the blood units screened for ELISA which is superior compared to the rapid method detection. Results: 5423 units of samples were screened 61 were reactive among these HIV(8), HBSAG(50), HCV(2), VDRL(1). Conclusion: The decrease in prevalence and trends of TTIS among the study donors demonstrated the safety measures which were employed in the recent years were effective. ELISA is the time saving and gold standard method for screening of blood donor units

Optimization of Balking and Reneging Queue with Vacation Interruption under -Policy

    No full text
This paper analyzes a finite buffer multiple working vacations queue with balking, reneging, and vacation interruption underpolicy. In the working vacation, a customer is served at a lower rate and at the instants of a service completion; if there are at least customers in the queue, the vacation is interrupted and the server switches to regular busy period otherwise continues the vacation. Using Markov process and recursive technique, we derive the stationary system length distributions at arbitrary epoch. Various performance measures and some special models of the system are presented. Cost analysis is carried out using particle swarm optimization and quadratic fit search method. Finally, some numerical results showing the effect of model parameters on key performance measures of the system are presented

Design of Fuzzy-PID controller using logarithmic approximations for IMC-LFC Model

This paper provides a Artificial Intelligent controller layered to analyze the power system’s logarithmic load frequency control problems. The control system ensures the preservation of steady frequency errors and of inadvertent bonding in a tolerance limit. The proposed control system was developed for a two-area hydrothermal heating system. The approach to control design is based on the two-degree internal model control (2DOF), which combines the fuzzy control technique for model order reduction to increase frequency excursions. Different techniques of the two-area reheating hydraulic energy system are integrated into the scheme and a correct combining of energy resources is seen in different operational conditions as a pragmatic solution. The IMC- FUZZY-PID architecture of the reduced order model, proposed with the original high order framework, delivers strong dynamic response and load sturdiness

A rare case of unruptured ectopic pregnancy in a rudimentary horn with a dead foetus of sixteen weeks

    No full text
Ectopic pregnancy in a rudimentary horn of bicornuate uterus is a rare type of ectopic pregnancy. It also called as cornual pregnancy. It is difficult to differentiate from tubal pregnancy. The clinical features are similar to that of tubal ectopic pregnancy. The diagnosis is made by operative finding, that is, position of the attachment of the round ligament to the gestational sac, which is always lateral to the cornual pregnancy, whereas in tubal pregnancy the round ligament lies medial to the gestational sac

Enhanced room temperature multiferroic characteristics in hexagonal LuFe1-xNixO3 (x=0-0.3) nanoparticles

Single phase polycrystalline LuFe1-xNixO3 (x = 0 - 0.3) (LFNO) nanoparticles are synthesized using the sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction measurements revealed that the crystal structure of Ni-doped samples is isomorphic to hexagonal LuFeO3 (LFO). The phase pure hexagonal P6(3)cm symmetry exists for 0 < x < 0.3, and the secondary phases appear for x > 0.4. Raman spectra show a shift in the mode frequency corresponding to the changes in Lu-O and Fe-O bond lengths with Ni doping. An enhancement in the magnetization is observed for LFNO throughout the temperature range (400-5 K) compared to LFO. The antiferromagnetic state of LFO becomes ferrimagnetic at low temperatures, and a net magnetization is observed at room temperature with Ni doping. As Ni concentration increases, a systematic increment in the ferroelectric polarization is observed. This enhancement in polarization is believed to be due to the distortion in FeO5 cage, while the improvement in magnetic properties is due to the induced magnetic interactions, caused by the Fe-Ni interactions on the triangular lattice with Ni doping in LuFeO3. A matrix geometric solution of a multi-server queue with waiting servers and customers’ impatience under variant working vacation and vacation interruption

This paper deals with a M/M/c queueing system with waiting servers, balking, reneging, and K-variant working vacations subjected to Bernoulli schedule vacation interruption. Whenever the system is emptied, the servers wait for a while before synchronously going on vacation during which services are offered with a lower rate. We obtain the steady-state probabilities of the system using the matrix-geometric method. In addition, we derive important performance measures of the queueing model. Moreover, we construct a cost model and apply a direct search method to get the optimum service rates during both working vacation and regular working periods at lowest cost. Finally, numerical results are provided
