Innovating with augmented reality : applications in education and industry

    No full text
; 23 cm

Isolation and characterization of recombinant <i style="">Brugian</i> parasitic transglutaminase

    No full text
317-326An attempt has been made to identify and characterize a putative chemotherapeutic target antigen for human lymphatic filariasis by recombinant DNA techniques. Identification of transglutaminase (TGA), an enzyme vital for the growth and survival of the parasites, has opened a new drug target for developing potent therapeutic agents against the parasites. TGA gene from Brugia malayi adult female parasite (BmTGA) has been subcloned, expressed and purified as a 47 kDa fusion protein with N-terminal histidine tag. Since BmTGA lacks homology to mammalian TGAs, it is a promising drug target for developing chemotherapeutic agent and candidate vaccine against human lymphatic filariasis

Finite-Interval Stability Analysis of Impulsive Fractional-Delay Dynamical System

    No full text
Stability analysis over a finite time interval is a well-formulated technique to study the dynamical behaviour of a system. This article provides a novel analysis on the finite-time stability of a fractional-order system using the approach of the delayed-type matrix Mittag-Leffler function. At first, we discuss the solution’s existence and uniqueness for our considered fractional model. Then standard form of integral inequality of Gronwall’s type is used along with the application of the delayed Mittag-Leffler argument to derive the sufficient bounds for the stability of the dynamical system. The analysis of the system is extended and studied with impulsive perturbations. Further, we illustrate the numerical simulations of our analytical study using relevant examples

The effect of daytime rain on the Indian Flying Fox (Mammalia: Chiroptera: Pteropodidae Pteropus giganteus)

    No full text
Excessive water loss during the day due to heat stress in bats of the genus Pteropus appears to be inevitable, because these bats are exposed to direct sunlight.  Rain also affects the rest pattern of the Indian Flying Fox Pteropus giganteus during the day.  When rain occurred during the day, most of the bats hung in a slanting position and did not exhibit any movements.  After rain, they licked both ventral and dorsal surfaces of the wing membrane and scratched their body with their thumb claws.  They also licked the water droplets that remained on the leaves and branches of the tree.  Even though their rest had been affected by the rain the bats utilized the water droplets to quench their thirst, cool their body and clean their fur.  The construction of water reservoirs near Pteropus roosts will help to assure their long-term conservation. </div
