Bitter Taste Receptors for Asthma Therapeutics.
Clinical management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has primarily relied on the use of beta 2 adrenergic receptor agonists (bronchodilators) and corticosteroids, and more recently, monoclonal antibody therapies (biologics) targeting specific cytokines and their functions. Although these approaches provide relief from exacerbations, questions remain on their long-term efficacy and safety. Furthermore, current therapeutics do not address progressive airway remodeling (AR), a key pathological feature of severe obstructive lung disease. Spin Effects in the Local Density of States of GaAs
We present spin-resolved measurements of the local density of states in Si
doped GaAs. Both spin components exhibit strong mesoscopic fluctuations. In the
magnetic quantum limit, the main features of the spin-up and spin-down
components of the local density of states are found to be identical apart from
Zeeman splitting. Based on this observation, we introduce a mesoscopic method
to measure the -factor in a material where macroscopic methods are severely
restricted by disorder. Differences between the spin-up and spin-down
components are discussed in terms of spin relaxation due to spin-orbit

Left-Right Symmetry and Supersymmetric Unification
The existence of an SU(3) X SU(2)_L X SU(2)_R X U(1) gauge symmetry with g_L
= g_R at the TeV energy scale is shown to be consistent with supersymmetric
SO(10) grand unification at around 1O^{16} GeV if certain new particles are
assumed. The additional imposition of a discrete Z_2 symmetry leads to a
generalized definition of R parity as well as highly suppressed Majorana

Antioxidant and antihyperglycemic potential of methanolic extract of bark of mimusops elengi l. In mice
Ayurveda refers Mimusops elengi L. for the treatment of the diabetes. Considering the traditional claim of M. elengi in management of diabetes and the possible involvement of oxidative stress in pathogenesis of diabetes, the present study was aimed to evaluate the in vitro antioxidant and in vivo antihyperglycemic property of methanolic extract of bark of M. elengi (MEMeOH). In vitro antioxidant activity of MEMeOH was evaluated using reducing power assay, DPPH and hydroxyl radical scavenging assay. MEMeOH offered significant in vitro reducing power capacity and radical scavenging activity. In acute study in alloxan induced diabetes, MEMeOH exhibited significant (p< 0.001) antihyperglycemic effect. The onset of antihyperglycemic effect was observed at 2nd hr; peak activity was demonstrated at 6th hr. The antihyperglycemic effect of MEMeOH 400mg/kg, p.o. was persistent up to 24th hr after drug administration. MEMeOH produced significant (p < 0.01) reduction in elevated glucose levels in glucose loaded non diabetic animals. The onset of action in non diabetic oral glucose tolerance test was found to be at 60th min and peak activity was observed at 120th min after oral glucose load. MEMeOH demonstrated significant (p < 0.01) reduction in elevated glucose levels 2hr before glucose administration and 6 hr after glucose load in oral glucose tolerance test in diabetic animals. MEMeOH has demonstrated antihyperglycemic activity in diabetic as well as non diabetic glucose loaded mice. Propagating residual biases in masked cosmic shear power spectra
In this paper we derive a full expression for the propagation of weak lensing
shape measurement biases into cosmic shear power spectra including the effect
of missing data. We show using simulations that terms higher than first order
in bias parameters can be ignored and the impact of biases can be captured by
terms dependent only on the mean of the multiplicative bias field. We identify
that the B-mode power contains information on the multiplicative bias. We find
that without priors on the residual multiplicative bias and
stochastic ellipticity variance that constraints on the amplitude of
the cosmic shear power spectrum are completely degenerate, and that when
applying priors the constrained amplitude is slightly biased low via a
classic marginalisation paradox. Using all-sky Gaussian random field
simulations we find that the combination of is unbiased for a
joint EE and BB power spectrum likelihood if the error and mean (precision and
accuracy) of the stochastic ellipticity variance is known to better than
and , or the

Solitary Periosteal Osteoma of the Mandible : A case report
Osteoma of the jaw bones is a rare entity with very few cases reported in the literature. Osteomas are benign, slow-growing osteogenic tumours of the bone commonly encountered in the craniofacial skeleton and characterised by the proliferation of compact or cancellous bone. They can be central, peripheral or extra-skeletal in their location. In the facial region, periosteal osteomas occur more frequently in the paranasal sinuses, but solitary periosteal osteomas of the jaw bones are quite rare. The mandible is more commonly affected than the maxilla, with the sites of predilection being the lingual aspect of the body, the angle and the inferior border. We report a case of a solitary periosteal osteoma on the buccal aspect of the mandible in a 42-year-old woman.
