Raman Spectroscopy for Analysis of Implants from the Dura Mater
In this paper we present results of the comparative evaluation of the structural properties of the dura mater specimens (DM), manufactured using the ”Lioplast” technology, used in the clinic in the field of atrophic processes in multiple gums recessions, using the Raman spectroscopy (RS) method. The introduced coefficients and a two-dimensional analysis that showed that the processing retains the main components and removes DNA / RNA, which increases the quality that provides access to quality materials in the treatment of multiple gum recessions. It was found that the main differences appear at wavenumbers of 835 cm−1 (tyrosine), 855 cm−1 (proline), 940 and 1167 cm−1 (GAGs, CSPGs), 1240 cm−1 (amide III), 1560 cm−1 (amide II) and 1447 cm−1 (lipids and proteins). It is shown that Raman spectroscopy can be used to evaluate implants from the dura mater.

Spectral Analysis of Structural Changes of the Heart Valves at Different Stages of Their Decellularization
Presents the results of applying the method of Raman spectroscopy for the qualitative analysis of the surfaces of the heart valve of sheep before and during their decellularization. Optical analysis showed that the implementation of decellularization valves reduces the content of glycosaminoglycans, proteins and lipids. Found that using specified optical coefficients, it is possible to control the efficiency of the process of decellularization heart valves.

The application of the Raman Spectroscopy Method for Evaluating Implants from the Dura Mater
The results of a comparative spectral evaluation of the component composition of the surfaces of implants from the dura mater manufactured using the Lioplast technology with the use of ultrasound and sterilization are presented. Based on the analysis, coefficients were introduced reflecting the change in the relative concentration of components that determine the quality of the implants. It is established that Raman spectroscopy can be used to assess the change in the composition of implants based on the dura mater during their manufacture.

Analysis of Synovial Fluid for Study of Diseases of Joints Using the Method of Raman Spectroscopy
This paper presents the results of experimental studies using the synovial fluid Raman spectroscopy method, which was obtained from the joint cavity during the operation. By analyzing the composition of the synovial fluid, it was found that with the development of the degenerative-dystrophic process in the synovial fluid of the affected joint, the total number of components at wave numbers: 1155 cm-1 (Hyaluronic acid (C-O, C-C)) and 1250 cm-1 (Amide III). The introduced optical coefficients allow estimating the synovial fluid in osteoarthritis and further this method of Raman spectroscopy can become a new diagnostic screening for the detection of articular pathology.

Spectral Studies of Rat Bone Tissue in Modeling Osteoporosis and Effectiveness of Treatment By Hydroxyapatite
Presents the result of experiments on the study of the model of osteoporosis in rats using Raman spectroscopy and the effectiveness of its treatment with hydroxyapatite. Were revealed spectral differences between groups of samples (control group, group with the model of osteoporosis and a group with the model of osteoporosis after treatment with hydroxyapatite). In addition, optical coefficients were introduced to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.

Raman spectroscopy analysis of dental enamel organic and mineral composition: an experimental non-randomised study
Background. Contemporary dental diagnosis should supplement clinical examination with instrumental diagnostic techniques. Raman spectroscopy has become widely adopted due to high spatial resolution, non-invasiveness, the lack of strict requirements and ease of sample preparation.Objectives. A qualitative assessment of enamel mineral and organic composition dynamics using Raman spectroscopy.Methods. Raman spectroscopy was used as primary research method. The trial bench consisted of a Shamrocksr-303i high-resolution digital spectrometer with built-in DV420A-OE cooled optical detector (spectral range 200–1200 nm), RPB-785 optic fibre scattering probe integrated with LuxxMaster LML-785.0RB-04 laser source with wavelength 785 nm.Software spectrum processing was performed with Wolfram Mathematica 9. Spectra were denoised with a median filter (5 points), the approximating line (fifth order polynomial) of autofluorescent component was determined in 700–2200 cm-1 range using an iterative algorithm and then subtracted to receive isolated Raman spectra.Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) of data was performed with the IBM SPSS Statistics package. Results. The assay included 28 teeth, with 14 extracted for orthodontic indications and 14 — for chronic periodontitis. Spectral dental enamel dynamics has been established in periodontal disease and after the in-office bleaching procedure. The evidence obtained can be applicable in dental practice to verify patients at risk of periodontal disease by interpreting the tooth enamel spectral properties, as well as prior to in-office bleaching.Conclusion. We demonstrate high efficiency of Raman spectroscopy for qualitative assessment of the mineral and organic enamel composition dynamics in various settings. Raman spectroscopy is confirmed effective and versatile in various aetiologies. It was successfully applied to diagnose periodontitis by changes in the organic and mineral enamel composition and evaluate enamel after in-office bleaching
Production of Hf in photoproton reaction Ta at energy = 35-95 MeV
The production of the nuclei in the photoproton
reaction was studied at end-point bremsstrahlung
energies = 35-95 MeV. The experiment was performed at the
electron linear accelerator LUE-40 NSC KIPT with the use of the
activation and off-line -ray spectroscopy.
The experimental values of the bremsstrahlung flux-averaged cross-sections
for the
reaction were determined, and at
MeV obtained for the first time.
The measured values, also as the literature data, are significantly exceed
the theoretical flux-averaged cross-sections . The values were calculated using the cross-section
computed with the TALYS1.95 code for six different level density
models.
A comparative analysis of the calculated total cross-sections for the
reactions and
was performed. It was shown that the
photoproton to photoneutron strength ratio is
consistent with the estimates based on the isospin selection rules and the
value from the experiment.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figures, 2 table
West nile fever case in neurological practice
West Nile fever is a zoonotic arbovirus mosquito- and tick-borne infection, which occurs in humans in the form of an acute febrile illness with symptoms of general intoxication, in severe cases – with the central nervous system damage. West Nile virus belongs to the Flaviviridae family. After the start of Russians’ mass tourism to tropical and subtropical regions, number of cases of the disease in Russia has increased, especially in the south, where the virus is more viable. The infection mainly affects birds but also people and many mammals (bats, cats, dogs, skunks, squirrels, rabbits, etc.), which become infected after the bite of a mosquito of the genus Culex (Culex pipiens) carrying the disease, ixodid or argas mite. A clinical case of hemorrhagic stroke caused by West Nile fever is presented in the article
