Web Proxy Cache Replacement Policies Using Decision Tree (DT) Machine Learning Technique for Enhanced Performance of Web Proxy

    Get PDF
Web cache is a mechanism for the temporary storage (caching) of web documents, such as HTML pages and images, to reduce bandwidth usage, server load, and perceived lag. A web cache stores the copies of documents passing through it and any subsequent requests may be satisfied from the cache if certain conditions are met. In this paper, Decision Tree (DT ) a machine learning technique has been used to increase the performance of traditional Web proxy caching policies such as SIZE, and Hybrid. Decision Tree (DT) is used and integrated with traditional Web proxy caching techniques to form better caching approaches known as DT - SIZE and DT - Hybrid. The proposed approaches are evaluated by trace - driven simulation and compared with traditional Web proxy caching techniques. Experimental results have revealed that the proposed DT - SIZE and DT - Hybrid significantly increased Pure Hit - Ratio, Byte Hit - Ratio and reduced the latency when compared with SIZE and Hybrid

    ENCODING SCHEME FOR CROSSTALK MINIMIZATION

ABSTRACT Crosstalk in on-chip buses ends up in serious issues relating delay and power dissipation. Many encoding techniques were proposed avoid crosstalk step-down. Fibonacci based coding reduces the amount of transitions within the code words and therefore moves itself closed to an entire resolution for crosstalk step-down. The crosstalk impact may be a consequence of coupling and switching activities that's encountered once there is a transition as compared to previous state of wire and once there are transitions in adjacent wires. There are many strategies for the reduction of power dissipation, crosstalk and delay. This paper proposes encoding theme to realize the crosstalk. This coding technique is enforced mistreatment VHDL. This proposed algorithmic program is cut back the crosstalk and delay

Synthesis of some 3-(2-substituted sulfanyl-imidazo [2,1-b][1,3,4] thiadiazol-6-yl)-chromen-2-one and its derivatives

454-458A series of 3-(2-substituted sulfanyl-imidazo [2,1-b][1,3,4] thiadiazol-6-yl)-chromen-2-ones (3) have been synthesized from 3-(2-bromo acetyl) chromen-2-ones 1 and 2-amino-5-thio substituted[1,3,4]thiadiazole 2 in anhydrous ethanol. The 7,8-benzo analogs of 3-(2-substituted sulfanyl-imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4] thiadiazol-6-yl)-chromen-2-ones 5 have been synthesized under similar conditions. All the synthesized compounds have been characteriszed by analytical and spectral data

Exploratory studies on beneficiation of low-grade Banded Iron ore Formations (BIF) of Karnataka, India

    Get PDF
Iron ore is the basic raw material for production of metallic iron. With depletion of high-grade resources and fine dissemination of valuable minerals in the abundantly available low-grade banded iron ore formations (BIF), liberation is achieved at finer sizes. Hence, it necessitated all beneficiation techniques to be operated at this finer size. However, physical separation techniques have limitations in separation efficiency. A combination of pre-concentration technique such as magnetic separation followed by flotation of magnetic fraction proved to be promising in achieving the respectable grade. A low-grade iron ore sample (BIF) of Karnataka, India was subjected to high intensity magnetic separation followed by flotation for enhancing its grade and recovery. Laboratory scale studies on this ore assaying 39.80 Fe%, 39.62 SiO2% and 1.73 Al2O3% indicated that it could be improved to 63.78 Fe%, 3.10 SiO2% and 1.01 Al2O3% at an overall iron recovery of 24% only. However, attempts are being made to further improve the iron recovery

Giant intermuscular lipoma of neck and chest: a case report with review of literature

    Get PDF
Intermuscular lipoma is an uncommon benign tumor. In this case report we described a case of a patient with intermuscular lipoma located between sternocleidomastoid, pectoralis and scalene muscles on left side. These types of tumors are exceedingly rare in head and neck regions. Intermuscular lipomas are thought to arise from the Intermuscular septa and enlarge between muscle bundles. Clinical data, investigations, Magnetic Resonance Imaging scan confirm the diagnosis. These tumours are more common in males than females. Complete surgical excision of tumor is the treatment of choice. It is crucial for the surgeon to consider deep lipomas when dealing with soft tissue tumors

Kidney injury molecule-1: a urinary biomarker for contrast induced acute kidney injury.

    Get PDF
Back ground: Urinary kidney injury molecule 1 (KIM-1) is early biomarker for renal damage. A few studies have been published analyzing the potential use of urinary kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) as a biomarker for acute kidney injury. However no study has been done related to Acute Kidney Injury associated with contrast administration. Aim: To search for new markers to identify Acute Kidney Injury (ARF) associated with contrast administration earlier than serum creatinine. Material and Methods: We studied 100 consecutive patients with normal serum creatinine undergoing angiographic procedure. We assessed urine KIM-1, at 4h, 8h, and 24 hours after the angiographic procedure. Serum creatinine was measured at basal, 24h and 48 hours after the procedure. Results: There was a significant rise in urinary KIM-1 levels at 24 hours after the angiographic procedure. The presence of contrast induced nephropathy associated with acute Kidney Injury was 12%. Conclusion: The present study highlighted the importance of urinary KIM-1 in detecting Acute Kidney Injury associated with contrast administration earlier than Serum creatinine. Scimitar syndrome: a rare congenital venolobar anamoly

    Get PDF
Scimitar syndrome is a rare congenital anomaly presenting with partial anomalous pulmonary venous drainage from right lung to inferior vena cava. This is the rarest anomaly seen in 1 to 3 in 100000 births. Embryologically it is thought to be a primary developmental anomaly of lung with secondary anomalous venous drainage. This is seen commonly in right lung and is common in females. Most of the cases are asymptomatic or minimally symptomatised. If symptoms are present patient usually presents with pulmonary hypertension and symptoms of left to right shunt. Clinically this syndrome is diagnosed by chest x- ray by the presence of “Scimitar sign”. Surgical treatment effective in this syndrome

Evaluation of the effectiveness of seminar as an educational tool among the medical post graduate students

    Get PDF
Background: The departments of medical colleges have a greater responsibility in making the study methods of their subject innovative, interesting and participatory for the post graduate students. One such method adopted is organizing seminars for the post graduate students. The post graduate education depends on self-learning. Knowledge acquisition through seminars forms an essential part of their training programme. Methods: This study assesses the role of seminar as teaching-learning tool by recording the perception of post graduates on seminars through a questionnaire based survey. Results: The scores for most of the items of a twenty point questionnaire were above three indicating the learning from seminar is satisfactory. Seminar methods of teaching-learning, in contrast to the traditional didactic class room lecture method, is more effective way of  learning, which is relevant to self-development and is also interactive. This method provokes discussions and debates which help post graduate students to voice their opinion and clear their doubts.  Conclusions: Many of the post graduate students feel that this technique of seminar programme is useful amidst some suggestions to improve quality. Thus the post graduate seminar method is a teaching-learning method that covers the three major domains of teaching i.e., cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills and is thus effective and well -accepted among the post graduate students.
