Background This paper presents two sampling-event datasets with occurrences of vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens collected in May-June 2021 in southern Ukraine. We aimed to collect high-quality biodiversity data in an understudied region and contribute it to international databases and networks. The study was carried out during the 15th Eurasian Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) Field Workshop in southern Ukraine and the Dark Diversity Network (DarkDivNet) sampling in the Kamianska Sich National Nature Park. By chance, these datasets were collected shortly before the major escalation of the Russian invasion in Ukraine. Surveyed areas in Kherson and Mykolaiv Regions, including established monitoring plots, were severely affected by military actions in 2022. Therefore, collected data are of significant value in the context of biodiversity documentation. The knowledge about the biodiversity of this area will help to assess the environmental impact of the war and plan restoration of the damaged or destroyed habitats. The first preliminary analysis of collected data demonstrates the biodiversity richness and conservation value of studied grassland habitats. New information We provide sampling-event datasets with 7467 occurrences, which represent 708 taxa (vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens) collected in 275 vegetation relevés. Amongst them, vascular plants are represented by 6665 occurrences (610 taxa), lichens - 420 (46) and bryophytes - 381 (51). Several new species were reported for the first time at the national or regional level. In particular, one vascular plant species (Torilis pseudonodosa) and two lichen species (Cladonia conista, Endocarpon loscosii) were new to Ukraine. One vascular plant (Stipa tirsa), two species of bryophytes (Rhynchostegium megapolitanum, Ptychostomum torquescens) and three species of lichens (Cladonia cervicornis, C. symphycarpa, Involucropyrenium breussi) were recorded for the first time for the Kherson Region. Additionally, these datasets contain occurrences of taxa with narrow distribution, specialists of rare habitat types and, therefore, represented by a low number of occurrences in relevant biodiversity databases and particularly in GBIF. This publication highlights the diversity of natural vegetation and its flora in southern Ukraine and raises conservation concerns

This paper presents the issues connected with the analysis of distributions of horizontal deformations in measurement rosettes. It presents the results of observations of relative extensions of measurement sections for two rosettes located in the areas of compressing and extending deformations within the reach of the mining exploitation impact. Both rosettes were separated from the points of the regular observation grid covering the projected mining field in the neighbourhood of Jaworzno. Due to the measurement grid configuration the investigated rosettes are star rosettes of 8 directions of linear deformation values determination. The deformation values were determined by use of direct distance measurements. Various base distances were tested in order to determine their effect on the obtained deformation distributions. The analysed horizontal distribution in the investigated rosettes was related to the theoretical model principles. The major purpose of the paper was to present the real distributions of horizontal deformations for the areas with their maximum values. This caused in problems with the precise description of the current state of surface deformations and surface objects, which in turn allowed the researchers to draw conclusions from the study of the mining area deformations

Various novelties have emerged since the last update of the position paper on sleep medicine in cardiology of the German Cardiac Society in 2014, which is why this revision became necessary. This new version not only includes all new studies available up to the date of printing, including references, updates on pathophysiology, diagnostics, and treatment recommendations but also constitutes outlooks towards novel developments and future scientific projects in this field. This revised position paper provides not only recommendations on diagnostics and treatment for cardiovascular patients with sleep-disordered breathing but also provides an overview of available treatment and evidence. In addition, it provides advice on interactions with comorbidities and in particular includes revised statements on sleep-disordered breathing in patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, arterial hypertension and atrial fibrillation. Moreover, for the first time this position paper comprises recommendations for telemedicine as an individual novel chapter. This position paper supplies cardiologists as well as all physicians treating patients with cardiovascular diseases options for evidence-based medicine for treatment of the combination of cardiovascular disease in context with the growing attention towards the comorbidity of sleep-disordered breathing. If nothing else, this position paper implicates close interaction with the novel curriculum “sleep medicine” of the German Cardiac Society, facilitating orientation on the newly acquired capabilities through completion of the curriculum to fully handle the diagnostics and treatment of cardiovascular patients with sleep-disordered breathing
