    Real-time human detection in urban scenes: Local descriptors and classifiers selection with adaboost-like algorithms

    This paper deals with the study of various implementations of the AdaBoost algorithm in order to address the issue of real-time pedestrian detection in images. We use gradient-based local descriptors and we combine them to form strong classifiers organized in a cascaded detector. We compare the original AdaBoost algorithm with two other boosting algorithms we developed. One optimizes the use of each selected descriptor to minimize the operations done in the image (method 1), leading to an acceleration of the detection process without any loss in detection performances. The second algorithm (method 2) improves the selection of the descriptors by associating to each of them a more powerful weak-learner – a decision tree built from the components of the whole descriptor – and by evaluating them locally. We compare the results of these three learning algorithms on a reference database of color images and we then introduce our preliminary results on the adaptation of this detector on infrared vision. Our methods give better detection rates and faster processing than the original boosting algorithm and also provide interesting results for further studies. 1

    The aim of this research is to analyzes determinant factors (input) and determinant factor (process) to employee working quality (output) in Land Agency in Rote Ndao regency. There are 6 variables used in this research with 6 independent variables and one dependent variable. 6 dependent variables consist of human resources, budget, facility, infrastructure, bureaucracy efficiency, and labor discipline; independent variable is working quality. Population in this research are 30 employees from Land Agency in Rote Ndao regency. Data analysis used in this research is Spearman's correlation analysis method. This research concludes that the six independet variables have significant influnce toward the dependent variable partially and simultaneously

    Resumo: Com o objetivo de avaliar o comportamento agronômico de genótipos de girassol no cerrado do Distrito Federal, foram conduzidos ensaios na safrinha dos anos de 2011 e 2012, em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições. Os caracteres avaliados foram rendimento de grãos, tamanho do capítulo, peso de mil aquênios, altura de plantas, dias para floração inicial e teor de óleo. Foram observadas diferenças altamente significativas entre os genótipos para todas as características morfoagronômicas avaliadas. Em relação ao rendimento de grãos, em 2011, esta característica variou de 2.376 kg.ha (SRM 822) a 5.490 kg.ha (BRSG 30) e, em 2012, de 2.306 kg.ha (V60415) a 4.412 kg.ha (SYN 039A). Materiais genéticos promissores para as características agronômicas avaliadas foram identificados no trabalho, podendo ser explorados comercialmente em condições de safrinha do Cerrado. Abstract : Aiming to evaluate the agronomic performance of sunflower genotypes in the Savannah of the Federal District, experiments were conducted in the second crop of 2011 and 2012 in a randomized block design with four replications. The characters evaluated were grain yield, head length, weight of thousand achenes, plant height, days to initial flowering and oil content. Differences among genotypes for all traits morphoagronomic were highly significant. In relation to grain yield in 2011, this feature[ ranged from 2376 kg.ha (SRM 822) to 5,490 kg.ha (BRSG 30) and, in 2012, from 2,306 kg.ha (V60415) to 4412 kg.ha (SYN 039A).     Um ensaio de primeiro ano de avaliação foi conduzido na Embrapa Cerrados com o objetivo de avaliar o comportamento de genótipos de girassol em safrinha, em relação às variáveis: rendimento de grãos, altura de plantas, número de plantas quebradas, peso de mil aquênios, dias para floração plena em 19 materiais genéticos no período de 16/02/2011 a 15/06/2011. O rendimento médio ficou em torno de 3.390,67 kg.ha-1e a rendimento de grãos máximo foi obtida pelo genótipo BRS G 30(5.489,67 kg.ha-1). A altura média das plantas foi de 175 cm, o peso médio de mil aquênios foi 57,03 g e o período para floração plena ficou em torno de 64 dias. As condições ambientais expressas na safrinha do Cerrado do Distrito Federal, em 2011, fazem com que o girassol seja uma opção de cultivo no sistema de produção agrícola. SUNFLOWER GENOTYPES AGRONOMIC PERFORMANCE IN OFF-SEASON PERIOD AT DISTRITO FEDERAL SAVANNA IN 2011 IN FIRST YEAR TEST. An experiment of the first year evaluation was conduced at Embrapa Cerrados with the objective of evaluate the agronomic performance of sunflower genotypes in off-season period, and were evaluated: yield, plants height, number of broken plants, weight of a thousand seeds and days to complete flowering in 19 genetic materials between February 16th and June 15th of 2011. The average grain yield was 3390.67 kg.ha-1 and the highest yield was obtained by the genotype BRS G 30 (5489.67 kg.ha-1). The average height of plants was 175 cm, the weight of a thousand seeds was 57.03 g and the number of days to complete flowering was around 64 days.The environmental conditions expressed in off-season period at Distrito Federal savanna, in 2011, makes sunflower crop as an option in agricultural production system

Foram avaliados: rendimento de grãos, altura de plantas, número de plantas quebradas, peso de mil aquênios e dias para floração plena no período de 16/02/2011 a 15/06/2011. O rendimento médio ficou em 2.912,60 kg.ha-1e o rendimento máximo foi apresentado pelo genótipo BRS G 29 (3.410,29 kg.ha ). A altura média das plantas foi de 169,75 cm, o peso médio de mil aquênios foi de 52,8 g e o número médio de dias para floração foi de 62. As condições ambientais expressas pela safrinha no Cerrado do Distrito Federal em 2011 colocam o girassol como uma opção de cultivo no sistema de produção agrícola dessa região.     Deformable model to recover circular generalized cylinders

    This paper describes a new approach to recover Circular Generalized Cylinders (CGC) using deformable models . This class includes many objects present on industrial site (pipes) or on the natural environment (human leg, tree trunk) . First, we propose a modeling algorithm of objects with constant cross-section radius, called Uniform Circular Generalized Cylinder s (UCGC). With this assumption, reconstruction is possible from a single view of the object. In the case of a single image, the cross - section radius cannot be estimated . If this radius is unknown, reconstruction is achieved up to a scale factor. The model 3D axis i s parametrized by a B-spline curve . After a coarse initialization, the model changes shape to fit the object contour detected in the studied image. Using different views of the object, the previous approach is adapted to Circular Generalized Cylinders (cross-section radiu s variations are now permitted) . No assumption is made on the axis geometry nor on the way the radius varies . In order to be sufficiently adaptative to the large range of object shape belonging to this class, we propose using two independent B-splin e functions to model respectively axis and cross-section radii variations . These algorithms use the geometrical properties of the occluding contours given by the perspective projection of the objects. It i s the first attempt to solve this problem by taking into account this accurate projective model .Dans cet article, nous proposons une méthode de reconstruction des cylindres généralisés à section circulaire par modèle déformable. Tout d'abord, nous formulons l'hypothèse que les sections de l'objet sont de rayon constant. Nous parlons alors de Cylindres Généralisés Circulaires Uniformes (CGCU). Si le rayon est connu a priori, cette hypothèse permet de retrouver l'axe 3D de l'objet, paramétré par une fonction B-Spline, à partir d'une seule vue, sinon la reconstruction est faite à un facteur d'échelle près. Après une initilisation grossière, le modèle est déformé itérativement jusqu'à ce que sa forme devienne cohérente avec les contours extraits de l'image. Nous montrerons ensuite que l'exploitation de différentes vues d'un même objet permet d'adapter notre approche à la reconstruction de Cylindres Généralisés Circulaires (CGC), objets constitués de sections circulaires à rayon non-constant. Aucune hypothèse a priori n'est faite sur la géométrie de l'axe ou sur la façon dont varie le rayon des sections. Afin de pouvoir s'adapter au plus grand nombre d'objets appartenant à cette classe, deux fonctions B-Spline indépendantes sont utilisées pour paramétrer l'axe et la fonction de variation du rayon

    Estimativa de parâmetros genéticos, correlações fenotípicas e ambientais no girassol do cerrado do Distrito Federal.

    O propósito deste trabalho foi avaliar a estimativa de parâmetros genéticos, correlações fenotipicas e ambientais no girassol do Cerrado do Distrito Federal. Os caracteres analisados foram: rendimento de grãos, tamanho do capítulo, peso de mil aquênios, altura de plantas e dias para floração inicial. Foram constatadas diferenças altamente significativas entre os genótipos para todas as características morfoagronômicas avaliadas. Para o coeficiente CVr a maioria dos valores foram superior a 1 nos dois anos considerados, indicando que para a maioria dos caracteres aferidos há a possibilidade de êxito na seleção fenotípica uma vez que a variância genética superou a ambiental. Na herdabilidade, a maior estimativa verificada foi para o caráter PMA (98,76%) em 2013 e para DFI (99,68%) em 2014. Foram constatadas diferenças altamente significativas entre os genótipos para todas as características morfoagronômicas avaliadas. O alto coeficiente de variação genético destaca a possibilidade de obter ganhos genéticos para todas as características analisadas salvo em tamanho de capitulo. Materiais genéticos com potencial para as características agronômicas pesquisadas foram identificados no trabalho, podem ser indicadas ao sistema de produção irrigado no Cerrado. Abstract: The purpose of this study was to estimate genetic parameters, phenotypic and environmental correlations in sunflower of Brazilian savannah. The characters analyzed were: grain yield, chapter length, weight of a thousand achenes, plant height and days to start flowering. Highly significant differences were observed among genotypes for all morphoagronomic characteristics evaluated. For the most CVr coefficient values were higher than 1 in the two years under consideration, indicating that for the majority of measured characters there is the possibility of successful phenotypic selection once the genetic variance exceeded the environmental. The heritability estimate was the highest for the PMA character (98,76%) in 2013 and DFI (99,68%) in 2014. Highly significant differences were observed among genotypes for all morphoagronomic characteristics evaluated. The high coefficient of genetic variation show the possibility of obtaining genetic gain for all examined characteristics except in chapter length. Genetic material with potential for the researched agronomic characteristics were identified in the work, can be indicated to the irrigated production system in the Brazilian savannah
