Mass formulae and strange quark matter
We have derived the popularly used parametrization formulae for quark masses
at low densities and modified them at high densities within the
mass-density-dependent model. The results are applied to investigate the lowest

Limits on Four-Top Production from the ATLAS Same-sign Top-quark Search
We repurpose the recent ATLAS search for same-sign top quarks in data with
1.0 fb in the context of a search for production of four top quarks.
Using the null results of that search, we place limits on the four-top-quark
production cross section of about 1 pb. These limits are larger than the
expected Standard Model rate for four-top-quark production, but are already
strong enough to place interesting constraints on models which enhance that
rate. We interpret these results in the context of models in which the
right-handed top quark is composite and find limits on the compositeness scale
of about 700 GeV.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Stocking, Enhancement, and Mariculture of Penaeus orientalis and Other Species in Shanghai and Zhejiang Provinces, China
China's marine aquaculture landings provide only 18% of its combined freshwater and amrine capture and culture landings, at a per-capita consumption of only 3.2 kg/yr out of a total of 18.1 kg/yr. We described development and some of the results of long-term mariculture and stocking/enhancement projects that have been underway for up to 20 years in the Hangzhou Bay area. Penaeus orientalis (also referred to as P. chinensis) stocking provided up to 400 t/yr, at a total cost-benefit ratio of up to 8 Yuan of landed shrimp per Yuan invested in shrimp stocking. Over 40 t of Penaeus orientalis were produced commercially in 1993, with proceeds being used to fund mariculture and fisheries research. Large scale edible jellyfish restocking is also underway, while semicommercial culture of abalone, Haliotis diversicolor, has been successful. The Picard group of the loop space of the Riemann sphere
The loop space of the Riemann sphere consisting of all C^k or Sobolev W^{k,p}
maps from the circle S^1 to the sphere is an infinite dimensional complex
manifold. We compute the Picard group of holomorphic line bundles on this loop
space as an infinite dimensional complex Lie group with Lie algebra the first
Dolbeault group. The group of Mobius transformations G and its loop group LG
act on this loop space. We prove that an element of the Picard group is
LG-fixed if it is G-fixed; thus completely answer the question by Millson and
Zombro about G-equivariant projective embedding of the loop space of the

potential future hadron collider facilities: LHC14, as well as colliders
with or 100 TeV. We consider both the effective operator approach

Label-Free Metabolic Classification of Single Cells in Droplets Using the Phasor Approach to Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy.
Characterization of single cell metabolism is imperative for understanding subcellular functional and biochemical changes associated with healthy tissue development and the progression of numerous diseases. However, single-cell analysis often requires the use of fluorescent tags and cell lysis followed by genomic profiling to identify the cellular heterogeneity. Identifying individual cells in a noninvasive and label-free manner is crucial for the detection of energy metabolism which will discriminate cell types and most importantly critical for maintaining cell viability for further analysis. Here, we have developed a robust assay using the droplet microfluidic technology together with the phasor approach to fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy to study cell heterogeneity within and among the leukemia cell lines (K-562 and Jurkat). We have extended these techniques to characterize metabolic differences between proliferating and quiescent cells-a critical step toward label-free single cancer cell dormancy research. The result suggests a droplet-based noninvasive and label-free method to distinguish individual cells based on their metabolic states, which could be used as an upstream phenotypic platform to correlate with genomic statistics. © 2018 International Society for Advancement of Cytometry
