3D electron tomography reconstructions of dislocations in TiAl

    No full text
These movies show 3D electron tomography reconstructions of dislocations formed in TiAl at 800-900°C. They were acquired in samples deformed at 900°C by 2% (Movie 1) and by 20% (Movies 2, 3 and 4) of plastic deformation, and in a sample deformed at 800°C by 6% of plastic deformation (Movie 5). The informations given by these movies are the following:- Movie 1 shows gliding and climbing dislocations in TiAl at 900°C.- Movie 2 shows dislocations forming a sub-boundary network in TiAl deformed at 900°C- Movie 3 is an enlarged portion of movie 2, showing how dislocations forming in TiAl at 900°C are re-arranged in the sub boundary network- Movie 4 is another enlarged portion of movie 2, showing the motion of dislocations by mixed climb in TiAl at 900°C- Movie 5 shows dislocations in TiAl at 800°C.These movies can be viewed using usual softwares, like VLC media player for example
