Zero-mode contribution to the light-front Hamiltonian of Yukawa type models
Light-front Hamiltonian for Yukawa type models is determined without the
framework of canonical light-front formalism. Special attention is given to the
contribution of zero modes.Comment: 14 pages, Latex, revised version with minor changes, Submitted to

Different canonical formulations of Einstein's theory of gravity
We describe the four most famous versions of the classical canonical
formalism in the Einstein theory of gravity: the Arnovitt-Deser-Misner
formalism, the Faddeev-Popov formalism, the tetrad formalism in the usual form,
and the tetrad formalism in the form best suited for constructing the loop
theory of gravity, which is now being developed. We present the canonical
transformations relating these formalisms. The paper is written mainly for
pedagogical purposes.Comment: LaTeX, 18 pages, some misprints in formulas (131)-(134) are correcte
Fast two-qubit logic with holes in germanium
The promise of quantum computation with quantum dots has stimulated
widespread research. Still, a platform that can combine excellent control with
fast and high-fidelity operation is absent. Here, we show single and two-qubit
operations based on holes in germanium. A high degree of control over the
tunnel coupling and detuning is obtained by exploiting quantum wells with very
low disorder and by working in a virtual gate space. Spin-orbit coupling
obviates the need for microscopic elements and enables rapid qubit control with
Rabi frequencies exceeding 100 MHz and a single-qubit fidelity of 99.3 %. We
demonstrate fast two-qubit CX gates executed within 75 ns and minimize
decoherence by operating at the charge symmetry point. Planar germanium thus
matured within one year from a material that can host quantum dots to a
platform enabling two-qubit logic, positioning itself as a unique material to
scale up spin qubits for quantum information.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Enhanced surface acoustic wave cell sorting by 3D microfluidic chip design
We demonstrate an acoustic wave driven microfluidic cell sorter that combines advantages of multilayer device fabrication with planar surface acoustic wave excitation. We harness the strong vertical component of the refracted acoustic wave to enhance cell actuation by using an asymmetric flow field to increase cell deflection. Precise control of the 3-dimensional flow is realized by topographical structures implemented on the top of the microchannel. We experimentally quantify the effect of the structure dimensions and acoustic parameter. The design attains cell sorting rates and purities approaching those of state of the art fluorescence-activated cell sorters with all the advantages of microfluidic cell sorting
Calculation of the Mass Spectrum of QED-2 in Light-Front Coordinates
With the aim of a further investigation of the nonperturbative Hamiltonian
approach in gauge field theories, the mass spectrum of QED-2 is calculated
numerically by using the corrected Hamiltonian that was constructed previously
for this theory on the light front. The calculations are performed for a wide
range of the ratio of the fermion mass to the fermion charge at all values of
the parameter \hat\theta related to the vacuum angle \theta. The results
obtained in this way are compared with the results of known numerical
calculations on a lattice in Lorentz coordinates. A method is proposed for
extrapolating the values obtained within the infrared-regularized theory to the
limit where the regularization is removed. The resulting spectrum agrees well
with the known results in the case of \theta=0; in the case of \theta=\pi,
there is agreement at small values of the fermion mass (below the
phase-transition point).Comment: LaTex 2.09, 20 pages, 7 figures. New improved expression for the
