Impact of N-alkylamino substituents on serotonin receptor (5-HTR) affinity and phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A) inhibition of isoindole-1,3-dione derivatives

In this study, a series of compounds derived from 4-methoxy-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione, potential ligands of phosphodiesterase 10A and serotonin receptors, were investigated as potential antipsychotics. A library of 4-methoxy-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione derivatives with various amine moieties was synthesized and examined for their phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A)-inhibiting properties and their 5-HT1A and 5-HT7 receptor affinities. Based on in vitro studies, the most potent compound, 18 (2-[4-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)butyl]-4-methoxy-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione), was selected and its safety in vitro was evaluated. In order to explain the binding mode of compound 18 in the active site of the PDE10A enzyme and describe the molecular interactions responsible for its inhibition, computer-aided docking studies were performed. The potential antipsychotic properties of compound 18 in a behavioral model of schizophrenia were also investigated

Management audit in the public finance sector on the example of the Independent Municipal Public Health Care in Żyraków

This thesis is an example of a management audit on the operations within the Independent Municipal Health Care Institute in Żyraków. The information was obtained through investigation of literature, documentation from the Institute, analysis of legal acts and interviews with its representatives. The Objective of the study is to present the substance of management controls in the light of current legislation. The developed system of management control in the unit helped to identify problem areas and propose appropriate corrective measures that, if implemented, could contribute to increased efficiency in the execution of individual tasks and achieving set goals. In analysing the execution of the Management control system through various stages, prospective areas for development of the organization have been identified and corrective actions proposed to improve its operations.Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy jest kontrola zarządcza na przykładzie działalności Gminnego Samodzielnego Zakładu Opieki Zdrowotnej w Żyrakowie. Jej problematykę przybliżają informacje zdobyte w oparciu o literaturę przedmiotu, analizę aktów prawnych i dokumentacji badanej jednostki oraz wywiadów z jej przedstawicielami. Celem pracy jest przybliżenie istoty kontroli zarządczej w świetle obowiązujących przepisów prawnych. Opracowany system kontroli zarządczej w jednostce pozwolił zidentyfikować obszary problemowe i zaproponować odpowiednie działania naprawcze, których zastosowanie może przyczynić się do wzrostu efektywności jednostki w realizacji zadań i osiąganiu wyznaczonych celów. Na podstawie analizy poszczególnych etapów wdrażania systemu kontroli zarządczej zostały określone obszary perspektywiczne dla rozwoju organizacji oraz zaproponowane konkretne działania mające na celu usprawnienie jej działalności

Electrodiagnostic studies in the surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome : a systematic review

The aim of our paper was to provide comprehensive data on the role of electrodiagnostic (EDX) studies in the surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). An extensive search was conducted through the major electronic database to identify eligible articles. Data extracted included grade of CTS based on neurophysiological testing, preoperative data of EDX studies, time of complete or partial resolution after surgery, postoperative Boston carpal tunnel questionnaire (CTQ) scores, age, sex, intraoperative and postoperative data of EDX studies, time to complete or partial resolution of symptoms, and number of patients without postsurgical improvement. Our main findings revealed that that electrodiagnostic testing is still a powerful tool for diagnosis of CTS. Moreover, it can also detect other pathologies. EDX testing provides a quantitative measure of the physiological function of the median nerve, which may be used to guide surgical treatment. Thirdly, when the outcome of surgery is unsatisfactory, NCS can assist in determining the reason for failure
