Reliability oriented OTFS-based LEO satellites joint transmission scheme
This paper investigates a dual satellite transmission scheme with coherent reception. The receiver has a single synchronization circuit and is locked to only one of the satellites. Beam-centric pre-compensation techniques are considered in the paper. The cooperation area in which coherent reception is feasible is characterized analytically. The application of precoding to the orthogonal time and frequency space (OTFS) waveform is considered to counteract the residual offsets, which result from the displacement of the receiver from the selected reference point. Numerical evaluations show that the dual satellite scheme improves the system spectral efficiency as well the link reliability in comparison with the single satellite transmission scheme. This paper is part of the R+D+i project (PID2020-115323RB-C31) funded by MCIN/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

How have advances in comparative floral development influenced our understanding of floral evolution?
Evolutionary developmental biology has come to prominence in the past two decades, in both the plant kingdom and the animal kingdom, particularly following the description of homeotic genes linked to key morphological transitions. A primary goal of evolutionary developmental biology (“evo-devo”) is to define how developmental programs are modified to generate novel or labile morphologies. This requires an understanding of the molecular genetic basis of these programs and of the evolutionary changes they have undergone. The past decade has seen the establishment of a common language and common standards, and these changes have greatly improved the integration of evo-devo. Recently, a more comparative approach has been added to mechanistic developmental biology. In this review we attempt to show how, by using this “next-generation evo-devo” approach, insights into both developmental biology and evolutionary biology can be gained. Although the concepts we discuss are more broadly applicable, we have focused our examples on traits of the angiosperm flower, a structure that has undergone enormous morphological and developmental evolution since its relatively recent appearance in the fossil record.Work in the Glover laboratory on these topics is funded by the BBSRC, EU Marie Curie Actions, Isaac Newton Trust, Leverhulme Trust, NERC and the NSF, and we gratefully acknowledge all support. This is the accepted manuscript of a paper published in the International Journal of Plant Sciences (Glover BJ, Airoldi CA, Brockington SF, Fernández-Mazuecos M, Martínez-Pérez C, Mellers G, Moyroud E, Taylor L, International Journal of Plant Sciences, 2015, 176, 4, 307-323, doi:10.1086/681562). Immune adjuvant effect of V. cholerae O1 derived Proteoliposome coadministered by intranasal route with Vi polysaccharide from Salmonella Typhi
Proteoliposome derived from Vibrio cholerae O1 (PLc) is a nanoscaled structure obtained by detergent extraction process. Intranasal (i.n) administration of PLc was immunogenic at mucosal and systemic level vs. V. cholerae; however the adjuvant potential of this structure for non-cholera antigens has not been proven yet. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of coadministering PLc with the Vi polysaccharide antigen (Poli Vi) of S. Typhi by i.n route. The results showed that Poli Vi coadministered with PLc (PLc+Poli Vi) induce higher IgA response in saliva (p0.05) to that induced in a group of mice immunised by parenteral route with the Cuban anti-typhoid vaccine vax-TyVi®, although this vaccine did not induce mucosal response. In conclusion, this work demonstrates that PLc can be used as mucosal adjuvant to potentiate the immune response against a polysaccharide antigen like Poli Vi
Teleagro: software architecture of georeferencing and detection of heat of cattle
The systems of livestock production contribute in a preponderant way to improve the quality of life of the communities, since it allows to support the production of the daily sustenance of the communities, to conserve the
ecosystems, to promote the conservation of the wild life and to satisfy the values and traditions cultural Latin America, with its large wilderness areas, and a privileged climate favors the maintenance of livestock, to meet the demands of food and ensure regional and global food security. In Colombia, the agricultural sector contributes approximately 11.83% of the national GDP at current prices, according to the Bank of the Republic. Likewise, the livestock industry participates with 3.6%, in comparison with other sectors of the agricultural economy, the production of Colombian cattle doubles and triples to other sectors, such as poultry, coffee and floriculture. In addition, it contributes to the generation of employment in more than 25% of the total jobs generated in the agricultural sector and approximately 7% of the total employment of the Colombian economy (http://www.banrep.gov.co/is/pib). Within agricultural production, livestock occupy 38 million hectares, being 9 times larger than the area dedicated to agriculture. However, agriculture contributes 63% of the value of agricultural production, while livestock, mainly extensive, contributes 26% (FEDEGAN, Strategic Livestock Plan 2019). The large proportion of the área with agricultural vocation dedicated to precarious extensive livestock has
explained the low agricultural productivity in Colombia, with very serious consequences for human and sustainable development. This document shows the results of the communications, software and hardware platforms to help the livestock sector to manage production
