Diabetic encephalopathy is one of the late complications of diabetes mellitus arising from chronic hyperglycemia and cerebral macro- and microangiopathy. Cognitive impairment developing during diabetic encephalopathy and the associated maladaptation of patients become even more socially significant due to the rapid increase in the number of patients suffering from diabetes mellitus. In this regard, studies of drugs that improve cognitive functions in patients with diabetes mellitus are of the particular importance. Clinical case of a patient with cognitive impairment and diabetes mellitus treated with actovegin describes its effect on glucose utilization, as well as antioxidant, antihypoxant and other mechanisms of action that allow the drug to be used in patients with cognitive impairment CI on the background of diabetes mellitus.ΠΠΈΠ°Π±Π΅ΡΠΈΡΠ΅ΡΠΊΠ°Ρ ΡΠ½ΡΠ΅ΡΠ°Π»ΠΎΠΏΠ°ΡΠΈΡ β ΠΎΠ΄Π½ΠΎ ΠΈΠ· ΠΏΠΎΠ·Π΄Π½ΠΈΡ

Pancakes for a healthy diet: low-carb, prebiotic, gluten-free
The work aims to develop pancake recipes corresponding to the standards of a healthy
diet by replacing traditional components with ingredients containing nutritional functional
properties. Corn and rice flour are gluten-free and can be used to design gluten-free pancakes.
Barley flour contains beta-glucans, a large amount of fiber, reduces the glycemic index of
products, is useful not only for a healthy diet but also for people suffering from diabetes and
obesity. Rye flour is low in calories, as millet flour contains dietary fiber, vitamins, and lowers
cholesterol. Dietary fiber and inulin contribute to the regulation of intestinal microbiota. The
results show the possibility of 100% replacement of wheat flour with other types of flour in the
production of low-carb, prebiotic, and gluten-free pancakes. The water absorption capacity of
flour, dough viscosity, humidity, texture of products, and sensory analysis of finished products
were investigated. Replacing wheat flour with alternative types of flour can improve the
nutritional value of products, increase the content of dietary fiber, and reduce the calorie content
of pancakes
Elasticity Theory Connection Rules for Epitaxial Interfaces
Elasticity theory provides an accurate description of the long-wavelength
vibrational dynamics of homogeneous crystalline solids, and with supplemental
boundary conditions on the displacement field can also be applied to abrupt
heterojunctions and interfaces. The conventional interface boundary conditions,
or connection rules, require that the displacement field and its associated
stress field be continuous through the interface. We argue, however, that these
boundary conditions are generally incorrect for epitaxial interfaces, and we
give the general procedure for deriving the correct conditions, which depend
essentially on the detailed microscopic structure of the interface. As a simple
application of our theory we analyze in detail a one-dimensional model of an
inhomogeneous crystal, a chain of harmonic oscillators with an abrupt change in
mass and spring stiffness parameters. Our results have implications for phonon
dynamics in nanostructures such as superlattices and nanoparticles, as well as
for the thermal boundary resistance at epitaxial interfaces.Comment: 7 pages, Revte
New Mechanism for Electronic Energy Relaxation in Nanocrystals
The low-frequency vibrational spectrum of an isolated nanometer-scale solid
differs dramatically from that of a bulk crystal, causing the decay of a
localized electronic state by phonon emission to be inhibited. We show,
however, that an electron can also interact with the rigid translational motion
of a nanocrystal. The form of the coupling is dictated by the equivalence
principle and is independent of the ordinary electron-phonon interaction. We
calculate the rate of nonradiative energy relaxation provided by this mechanism
and establish its experimental observability.Comment: 4 pages, Submitted to Physical Review
AlGaAs/GaAs Quantum Well Infrared Photodetectors
In this article, we present an overview of a focal plane array (FPA) with 640 Γ 512 pixels based on the AlGaAs quantum well infrared photodetector (QWIP). The physical principles of the QWIP operation and their parameters for the spectral range of 8β10Β ΞΌm have been discussed. The technology of the manufacturing FPA based on the QWIP structures with the pixels 384 Γ 288 and 640 Γ 512 has been demonstrated. The parameters of the manufactured 640 Γ 512 FPA with a step of 20Β ΞΌm have been given. At the operating temperature of 72Β K, the temperature resolution of QWIP focal plane arrays is less than 35 mK. The number of defective elements in the matrix does not exceed 0.5%. The stability and uniformity of the FPA have been demonstrated
Studying the initial stage of nucleation with low-frequency Raman scattering
The objective of this paper is to show that low-frequency Raman scattering appears to be a sensitive method for the investigation of the initial stage of nucleation in multi- and mono-component systems. In the case of the mono-component systems, when the crystalline nuclei do not have an acoustic mismatch as compared to the amorphous matrix, we cannot observe their surface vibrations, but we can make use of the fact that in nucleation there is a jump in a structure correlation length. This results in a sharp decrease in contribution to the density of the acoustic vibration states because of decreasing the concentration of structural correlations on which acoustic phonons are localized. In addition, low-frequency Raman spectroscopy may be useful in the research into the phase transformation in materials for phase-change memories
