    Synthesis and characterization of Taurine

    Get PDF
Have been obtained 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid (taurine) from ethanolamine, sulfuric acid and sodium sulfite during the synthesis in laboratory condition. The process involves two steps of reactions, the first was esterification of ethanolamine with sulfuric acid to produce the intermediate product of 2-aminoethyl ester which than was extended to the second step by sulfonation with sodium sulfite to produce 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid. Resulting product was analyzed using 1H-NMR, IR, FAB-MS analysis and examined purity characterizations of the synthesized products. It is proved to be that of genus Peucedanum hystrix serve as a source of biologically valuable natural coumarins. Nine angular furocoumarins belonging to class of 2'-substituted and 2',3'-disubstituted 2',3'-dihydrofurocoumarins have been isolated and structurally isolated. For peucenidin data of X-ray analysis is obtained.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5564/mjc.v12i0.170 Mongolian Journal of Chemistry Vol.12 2011: 42-4

COMPARISON OF NEUTRON SPECTRUM MEASURED BY NUCLEAR PHOTO EMULSION METHOD WITH MONTE CARLO GEANT4 CODE

In this work, we have compared neutron energy spectrum measured by nuclear photo emulsion method in the “Energy plus Transmutation” collaboration in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Russia to that produced by simulations using Geant4 toolkait and evaluated the agreement between theoretical and experimental results when bombarding the Pb/U setup with 1.5 GeV-energy protons. We used high energy Bertini, Binary, and Liege models in the toolkit for the simulations. For energy range of 3-25.3 MeV, the numbers of neutrons that entered and produced in the photoemulsion volume were 2954, 2075, and 1799 for Bertini, Binary, and Liege, respectively. The coincidence between the neutron energy spectra of simulation and experiment was very good
