Terpenoids, flavonoids and other constituents of Eupatorium betonicaeforme (Asteraceae)
Chemical composition and larvicidal activity of the essential oils of Cordia leucomalloides and Cordia curassavica from the Northeast of Brazil
Constituintes quĂmicos de Vernonia scorpioides (Lam) Pers. (Asteraceae)
The chemical investigation of hexane and ethanol extracts from the aerial parts of Vernonia scorpioides resulted in the isolation and characterization of a new polyacetylene lactone, rel-4-dihydro-4ÎČ-hydroxy-5a-octa-2,4,6-triynyl-furan-2-(5H)-one, along with the new ethyl 3,4-dihydroxy-6,8,10-triynyl-dodecanoate, and seven known compounds: taraxasteryl acetate, lupeyl acetate, lupeol, lupenone, ÎČ-sitosterol, stigmasterol and luteolin. The structure of all compounds was determined by spectrometric techniques (HR-ESI-MS, ÂčH and 13C NMR and IV) and comparison with published spectral data
Composição quĂmica volĂĄtil e nĂŁo-volĂĄtil de Eupatorium ballotifolium Kunth, Asteraceae
Flavonoides de Lonchocarpus campestris (Leguminosae)
A new flavone named 3,4',5,6-tetramethoxy-[2'',3'':7,8]furanoflavone besides the known flavonoids (2S,3R,4S)-3,4,5,8-tetramethoxy-[2'',3'':6,7]-furanoflavan, 3,6-dimethoxy-2'',2''-dimethylcromene-[2'',3'':7,8] -flavone, 3,5,6-trimethoxy-[2'',3'':7,8]-furanoflavone, 2,4',4,5-tetramethoxy-[2'',3'':6,7]-furanodihydroaurone, (2R,3S,4S)-3,4,5,6-tetramethoxy-[2'',3'':7,8]-furanoflavan and 3',4'-methylenodioxy-5,6-dimethoxy-[2'',3'':7,8]-furanoflavone were isolated from the root barks of Lonchocarpus campestris. The complete ÂčH and 13C NMR assignments of the new furan flavonoid was performed using 1D and 2D pulse sequences, including COSY, HMQC and HMBC experiments
Terpenoids, flavonoids and other constituents of Eupatorium betonicaeforme (Asteraceae)
A new acylated kaurene diterpene, characterized as 15alpha-decanoyloxy-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid, along with nine known compounds: pentacosanoic acid, 24alpha-ethyl-5alpha-cholesta-7,22E-dien-3beta-ol, 15alpha-hydroxy-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid, 8beta-angeloyloxy-9beta,10beta-dihydroxy-1-oxo-germacra-4E,11(13)dien-12,6alpha-olide, 3beta-hydroxyeicosan-1,5beta-olide, taraxasteryl acetate, 7-O-methylkaempferol, kaempferol, and nepetin were isolated from the flowers of Eupatorium betonicaeforme (Asteraceae). In addition, from the aerial parts were isolated taraxasteryl acetate and alpha- and beta-amyrin, while the mixture of beta-sitosterol and stigmasterol, and 6-acetyl-2,2-dimethylchroman-4-one were isolated from the roots. The structure elucidation of all compounds was performed by spectroscopic analysis and comparison with published data from literature
Composição quĂmica e atividade biolĂłgica das folhas e frutos de Triphasia trifolia
The chemical composition of the essential oils from leaves and fruits of Triphasia trifolia was analyzed by GC-FID and GC-MS. The major constituents of oil obtained from leaves were sabinene (35.4%) and myrcene (34.1%), while the prevalent compounds in oil from fruits were sabinene (37.2%), beta-pinene (23.95) and gamma-terpinene (16.3%). Both oils showed moderate antimicrobial activity. The fruit decoction was also investigated leading to the isolation of the coumarins isopimpinelin, (R)-byakangelicin and (S)-mexoticin. From leaves were isolated the coumarins (R)-byakangelicin, aurapten, (S)-mexoticin, isosibiricin, isomerazin and coumurrayin and the flavonoid vitexin. All coumarins showed cholinesterase inhibition on TLC tests
