OPTIMAL ENERGY SOURCE FOR AN ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY GO-KART

A method for a sizing of an electromechanical battery for electrical go-kart was presented in the paper. The main goal of this research was to replace the internal combustion (IC) engine by an electric drive system taking into account the traction properties, on the one hand and the duration of operation on a single charge and the number of the battery life cycles on the other. The proposed method permits an entire depreciation of the price of the vehicle before the degradation of the battery occurs. The results of the study have been used to adjust the source for electric go-karts that will be mass produced

Computer Vision based inspection on post-earthquake with UAV synthetic dataset

The area affected by the earthquake is vast and often difficult to entirely cover, and the earthquake itself is a sudden event that causes multiple defects simultaneously, that cannot be effectively traced using traditional, manual methods. This article presents an innovative approach to the problem of detecting damage after sudden events by using an interconnected set of deep machine learning models organized in a single pipeline and allowing for easy modification and swapping models seamlessly. Models in the pipeline were trained with a synthetic dataset and were adapted to be further evaluated and used with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in real-world conditions. Thanks to the methods presented in the article, it is possible to obtain high accuracy in detecting buildings defects, segmenting constructions into their components and estimating their technical condition based on a single drone flight.Comment: 15 pages, 8 figures, published version, software available from https://github.com/MatZar01/IC_SHM_P

A Hybrid Maximum Power Point Search Method Using Temperature Measurements in Partial Shading Conditions

No full text
Photovoltaic panels have a non-linear current-voltage characteristics to produce the maximum power at only one point called the maximum power point. In the case of the uniform illumination a single solar panel shows only one maximum power, which is also the global maximum power point. In the case an irregularly illuminated photovoltaic panel many local maxima on the power-voltage curve can be observed and only one of them is the global maximum. The proposed algorithm detects whether a solar panel is in the uniform insolation conditions. Then an appropriate strategy of tracking the maximum power point is taken using a decision algorithm. The proposed method is simulated in the environment created by the authors, which allows to stimulate photovoltaic panels in real conditions of lighting, temperature and shading

Isomers of 尾,尾-Dinitro-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphy-rin Derivatives: Valuable Starting Materials for Further Transformations

No full text
The synthesis, chromatographic isolation, and structure elucidation of β,β-substituted isomers of dinitro-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin complexes are described. meso-Tetraphenyl-porphyrin chelates (CuII, NiII, CoII) upon reaction wit e.g., itric acid (yellow HNO3, d = 1.52, diluted to 25⁻50%) in CHCl3 formed a mixture of nitro-derivatives with combined yields of ca 80%. This nitration (under optimized conditions: 25⁻30% HNO3, 30⁻40 min, r.t.) can be carried out selectively to give mainly β,β-dinitro-compounds in yields of up to 73%. From the above mixtures of five possible regioisomers that can be formed, usually two or three of them were isolated, for which the structures were assigned on the basis of 1H NMR spectra including COSY and NOESY measure-ments. These types of products are attractive starting materials for synthesis of potential anticancer PDT agents with unique structures, being practically unavailable by any other alternative method

A new approach to water cooling of photovoltaic panels with a tracking system

Get PDF
The article presents a water-cooling system for photovoltaic (PV) modules using a two-axis tracking system that tracks the apparent position of the Sun on the celestial sphere. The cooling system consists of 150 adjustable spray nozzles that cool the bottom layer of PV modules. The refrigerant is water taken from a tank with a capacity of 7 m 3. A water recovery system reduces its consumption with efficiency of approximately 90%. The experimental setup consists of a full-size photovoltaic installation made of 10 modules with an output power of 3.5 kWp combined with a tracking system. The article presents an analysis of the cooling system efficiency in various meteorological conditions. Measurements of energy production were performed in the annual cycle using three different types of photovoltaic installations: stationary, two-axis tracking system and two-axis tracking system combined with the cooling system

Implementation and analysis of Ryze Tello drone vision-based positioning using AprilTags

The paper describes of the Ryze Tello drone to move autonomously using a basic vision system. The drone's position is determined by identifying AprilTags' position relative to the drone's built-in camera. The accuracy of the drone's position readings and distance calculations was tested under controlled conditions, and errors were analysed. The study showed a decrease in absolute error with decreasing drone distance from the marker, a little change in the relative error for large distances, and a sharp decrease in the relative error for small distances. The method is satisfactory for determining the drone's position relative to a marker.Comment: Submitted to MMAR 2023 - 27th International Conference on Methods and Models in Automation and Robotic
