The present Third Party Logistics (3PL) service providers in Malaysia and Thailand are expending their effectiveness and efficiency in several spheres from contemporary logistics services offers towards the series of value-added services to their customers. There is a need to forecast their key performance indicators growth using a systematic approach in resource management, as their quality indicators. Hence, this paper discovers on the current propensities of 3PLs service providers in respect of issues connected with their performance, resources and quality to establish on the 3PLs indicators of resources, quality and processes. It is also sought to develop a model of systematic dynamics for internal resources and company processes optimization based on the best practices. The methodology of the research is based on literature reviews which focusing on the performance measurement, quality and resources of 3PL. Using a System Dynamics, a model of optimization and management of 3PL, the internal processes and resources were developed. This model comprises of Nine (9) segmentations, which are operations, commercial activities, administration, personnel management, procurement, quality management, Resources, Performance Measurement and Financial models. The model is indicating all areas of activities of 3PL service providers. This study proposes a new model for Third-party Logistics (3PL) performance indicators for future guidelines in related industry

AbstractThe function of Information Communication Technology is still unevenly distributed among the logistics providers leading to sizeable front-liners controlling the logistics market. The ICT involves directly with the customer relationships, manufacturing, transportation, warehousing networks and data streams. This study targeted at providing remedies to the most of existing gaps relating the influence of ICT facilities in logistics industry especially among the 3PLs in Malaysia. Third Party Logistics Services can be referred as an outsourcing of transport and logistics activities belong to other companies in the movement of goods to meet their purpose. In most cases, more than one activity is outsourced and it includes storage, warehousing and transportation. The study utilized in the used of questionnaire to gather the required information from Third party logistics service providers. The data were analysed among 150 respondents and the correlated result shows that the selection of an appropriate tool of ICT has a significant impact on the competitive advantage of third party logistics companies. The result of the study is able to be used for the measurement of the performance and benchmarking on the importance of ICT in leading the 3PLs logistics industry in future. Globally, there is an observable surge of interest in the logistics industry, giving rise to stiff competition among third-party logistics (3PLs) service providers as matters become more competitive daily. Currently, the Malaysian logistics sector concentrates on logistics operation outsourcing and the development of 3PLs. In recent times, environmental challenges have attracted large attention from both academic and industrial circles. Going by these environmental challenges, business organizations, such as manufacturing firms, are potentially a major source of competitive advantage. In Malaysia, the manufacturing sector is a major contributor to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, it is also a significant contributing factor to environmental deterioration and pollution. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the degree to which sustainability is part of 3PLs and manufacturing firms’ strategy relative to green transport operations and assess the moderating impact of new innovation practices in the logistics operations of 3PLs services. A quantitative method of research using a questionnaire was administered to 333 managers and senior staff of randomly selected 3PLs logistics companies online. The results showed that innovative green logistics moderate the relationship between packaging services and operational performance. Likewise, the interaction of warehousing services with the innovation of green logistics moderates the relationship between warehousing services and financial performance. This study’s finding from the perspective of establishing innovation in green logistics as a moderating factor in the relationship between 3PLs service provider’s key performance factors and green logistics in the manufacturing industry of Malaysia is significant. All of these can be impactful in achieving the related goals eighth and ninth goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the 2030 Shared Prosperity Vision (SPV), respectively. It is recommended that further studies on the moderating effect of innovative green logistics can be explored using more comprehensive quantitative methods

There are many obstacles, challenges and associated matters related to the logistics, supply chain management and transportation system. These includes, among others, safety, cost and quality the necessitate real solutions and enhancement. In the process of evaluating the efficiency and the quality of the solutions, the notions and inputs from the expert is significant most important when there is limited means and restrictions.Despite the growth of the third party logistics service providers (3PLs) unsuccessful logistics decision making is still a growing concern in the transport and logistics sector. However, the introduction of ICT modelling solutions for enhancing the process of decision making by the 3PLs in the business of logistics outsourcing has been seen as a step in a good direction. The advancement and management of logistics and transportation system is germane in the economic and social growth of a country, hence, the need for decision-making procedure that must be founded on realistic method. Based on this background, this study adopt the ICT model solutions to propose a series of variable factors that influence the logistics decision making process in the context of Malaysia. It also looks at the benefits of each factor that is considered good in the process of decision making of 3PLs. The aim of the study is to offer assistance to 3PLs practitioners operating under the factors involved in the logistics outsourcing decisions

An Innovative of Simul Model for Ready-Mix Concretes in The Concept of Third Party Logistics and Supply Chain Management in Malaysia and Thailand

The research discusses on issues in an order fulfilment for sustainable ready-mix concrete as desired for an eco-friendly choice of integration in the concept of third-party logistics and supply chain management. There are insufficient and inappropriate means in concrete industry which has contributed to un-environmentally friendly especially in Malaysia and Thailand. The supply management and logistics are the factors in designing of product which influence on the environmental, safety and health. It also involves on costs of energy, effectiveness, economic certainty, businesses and other related issues. Through the current practices with relevant factors, the analysis of model is no longer realistic. The sustainable of simulation in logistics model should relate to descriptive approaches. Through the less numbers of movements and reduction on carbon dioxide are significant for the simulation. In some developing countries, the involvements of commercial players and government bodies have their responsibility in controlling, simulating economic and business development. Relation to this fundamental deficiency, this paper utilized SIMUL model in the logistics for sustainable ready mixed concrete, eco-friendly and to meet on the order fulfilments. The result clearly indicates that the eco-friendly SIMUL model can be more sustainable, cost efficient and time effective in fulfilling orders for the operational of ready-mix concrete in future
