Healthcare Barriers of Residents at a Subsidized Housing Community
Introduction: Despite expanded healthcare programs, the low income and elderly lack coverage of vision, hearing, and dental services. Community services are often asked to fill these gaps. Continuous Processing and Efficient Reaction Monitoring of a Hypervalent Iodine(III) Mediated Cyclopropanation Using Benchtop NMR Spectroscopy
Real-time NMR spectroscopy has proven to be a rapid and an effective monitoring tool to study the hypervalent iodine(III) mediated cyclopropanation. With the ever increasing number of new synthetic methods for carbon−carbon bond formation, the NMR monitoring of reactions is becoming a highly desirable enabling method. Excitation of Trapped Waves in Simulations of Tilted Black Hole Accretion Disks with Magnetorotational Turbulence
We analyze the time dependence of fluid variables in general relativistic,
magnetohydrodynamic simulations of accretion flows onto a black hole with
dimensionless spin parameter a/M=0.9. We consider both the case where the
angular momentum of the accretion material is aligned with the black hole spin
axis (an untilted flow) and where it is misaligned by 15 degrees (a tilted
flow). In comparison to the untilted simulation, the tilted simulation exhibits
a clear excess of inertial variability, that is, variability at frequencies
below the local radial epicyclic frequency. We further study the radial
structure of this inertial-like power by focusing on a radially extended band
at 118 (M/10Msol)^-1 Hz found in each of the three analyzed fluid variables.
The three dimensional density structure at this frequency suggests that the
power is a composite oscillation whose dominant components are an over dense
clump corotating with the background flow, a low order inertial wave, and a low
order inertial-acoustic wave. Our results provide preliminary confirmation of
earlier suggestions that disk tilt can be an important excitation mechanism for

Effect of Modeling Techniques on the Simulation: Calculating the Stress Concentration Factors in Square Hollow Section T-Joints as a Case Study
The capability of the simulation software motivates the engineers to analyze the stress in complex welded joints where ordinary mathematical expression may lack. However, unfortunately, the simulations were interpreted mechanically without considering the simulation parameters deeply. For this reason, this research aims to study the effect of simulation parameters on the stress concentration factor of square hollow sections structures using ANSYS workbench. In this context, two main meshing techniques (face split vs. slicing) and various behavior of materials (linear vs. nonlinear) having been considered. The outputs of the investigations revealed the superiority of the materials nonlinearity over linear behavior in terms of results acceptability comparing to their corresponding real-life ones. For instance, the supercritical fluid of nonlinear plastic material estimated to be 14 which was closest to the 12 obtained experimentally by Mashiri et al. In addition to that, face split technique outperformed the slicing in terms of result accuracy and solving time. Solving the face split model elapsed 254 s only which is dramatically less than the minimum time (1605 s) of sliced models. This is because any slicing process will lead to the formation of the contact elements at interfaces and uncomfortable meshing which may in turn adversely effect on the simulation efficiency
Detecting a Currency's Dominance or Dependence using Foreign Exchange Network Trees
In a system containing a large number of interacting stochastic processes,
there will typically be many non-zero correlation coefficients. This makes it
difficult to either visualize the system's inter-dependencies, or identify its
dominant elements. Such a situation arises in Foreign Exchange (FX) which is
the world's biggest market. Here we develop a network analysis of these
correlations using Minimum Spanning Trees (MSTs). We show that not only do the
MSTs provide a meaningful representation of the global FX dynamics, but they
also enable one to determine momentarily dominant and dependent currencies. We
find that information about a country's geographical ties emerges from the raw
exchange-rate data. Most importantly from a trading perspective, we discuss how
to infer which currencies are `in play' during a particular period of time
Review of life-cycle assessments of livestock production: Perspectives for application to environmental impact assessment in developing countries
This review draws on Life-Cycle Assessments (LCA) of livestock value chains. The current state of livestock LCAs is summarized, with an emphasis on limitations and lessons for a developing country context. Of the 149 LCAs reviewed, 19 incorporated developing countries. Key messages are: LCAs can be conducted for livestock value chains in developing countries; and, lessons can be learnt to improve the rigor of alternative methodologies including modeling, indicator specification, allocation of impact and incorporating sensitivity analysis. Further, results from existing LCAs provide a point of reference for future LCAs and sustainability assessments in developing countries
