This study aimed at determining the perceptions of distance learning students of the availability, accessibility, usefulness and influence of instructional technologies for acquiring pedagogic experience at Ogbomoso, Osogbo and Ilorin, Nigeria. The study was descriptive of cross-sectional survey type and used a researchers-designed questionnaire to collect data. A total of 397 undergraduate students were randomly sampled from six faculties in the sampled study centres. Four research questions were raised, answered and analyzed using frequency counts and percentages. The results showed that instructional technologies were not sufficiently available and accessible to the students at study centres for the acquisition of pedagogic experiences. The findings revealed that students displayed a good level of interest in experiential learning using the available instructional technologies due to a high perception of usefulness of instructional technologies for learning. However, inadequacy of the instructional technologies was a constraint towards access and adequacy of their utilization by the students. It was recommended that government and non-governmental organizations should work to procure adequate instructional technologies that would facilitate easy access to pedagogical experiences

Learning Management System (LMS) is a common platform where students and teachers can interact digitally, most especially in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institutions. However, it has been discovered over time that most of the distance learners with poor study habits lag behind in its utilization. The purpose of this study was to investigate the Perception of Learning Management System among Distance Learners’ in South-West, Nigeria. Emphasis was on gender and field of study using an adapted Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study employed a descriptive research method. Data were collected through the administration of a-validated researcher-adapted questionnaire. Descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation were used to answer research questions one and two. Inferential statistics of t-test and ANOVA were used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The research findings indicated that there were significant differences between male and female distance learners in their: perceived usefulness of LMS (p=0.00); perceived ease of use of LMS (p=0.004); in favour of males; there was no significant difference among Sciences, Arts and Social Science distance learners on their perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of LMS. It was therefore recommended that training and support programs be established to ensure a sustainable use and prevent collapse of LMS in the institutions in respective of distance learners’ gender and field of study

This paper examined the nature, structure, and scope of computer based test (CBT). Specifically, it dealt with the use of CBT for conducting General Studies’ papers usually coded as GNS with particular focus on the University of Ilorin. The mode of use, scope, coverage and the nature of assessment were discussed. In addition, the organization of the course contents in relation to the needs of the learner were explained, however only GNS 311 was sampled being the highest point of the evolutionary trend of the course structure. Finally, the problems associated with the conduct of CBT and recommendations for ease of administration and future use were highlighted
