The Russian Cinematic Culture

The cinema has always been subject to keen scrutiny by Russia\u27s rulers. As early as the beginning of this century Russia\u27s last czar, Nikolai Romanov, attempted to nationalize this new and, in his view, threatening medium: I have always insisted that these cinema-booths are dangerous institutions. Any number of bandits could commit God knows what crimes there, yet they say the people go in droves to watch all kinds of rubbish; I don\u27t know what to do about these places. The plan for a government monopoly over cinema, which would ensure control of production and consumption and thereby protect the Russian people from moral ruin, was passed along to the Duma not long before the February revolution of 1917. However, it was ultimately carried out in 1919 by the same Bolsheviks who had executed Romanov, and Vladimir Lenin formulated one of the Communist Party\u27s political postulates in regard to cinema by announcing it to be, in 1922, the most important of all the arts. Yet it was truly made the most important medium of the new society by Joseph Stalin, who expressed this almost metaphysical conviction in 1924: Film is an illusion, but it dictates its laws to life

Research of the Possibilities to Improve the Quality of Potatoes Harvesting by Including an Experimental Heap Leveler-Distributor in the Design of Harvesting Machines

Improving the quality indicators of the operation of potato harvesters under difficult soil and climatic conditions is an urgent scientific and practical task. The paper reflects a research of the impact upon the quality of operation of two kinds of potato diggers of an experimental design for additional levelling of a heap (mass of soil, potato tubers, plant residues, etc.) on the conveyor. This device evenly distributes the potato heap along the plane of the main rod elevator, improves the separation conditions, reduces the total loss of tubers from 2.5 to 0.8%, that is, 3.1 times. A rational mode of operation of the digger has been determined, which, under these conditions, provides acceptable values for the losses and damage to the tubers

Amino acid formulas in patients with food allergy

The article presents modern approaches to the use of balanced formulas for nutrition and diet correction in children with various forms of food allergies. The guidelines are based on all available up to date evidence on the efficacy, safety and utility of using such innovative medical technology as specialized amino acid formulas. This formula is the targeted medical intervention for food allergies and confirmed cow's milk protein allergy, and particularly for patients with reduced physical growth and development (growth rates included). The material is based on methodological guidelines on the amino acid formulas usage previously developed by specialist experts of the Union of pediatricians of Russia in 2020
