-kaon cross section in meson exchange model
We calculate the cross section for the dissociation of by kaons
within the framework of a meson exchange model including anomalous parity
interactions. Off-shell effects at the vertices were handled with QCD sum rule
estimates for the running coupling constants. The total -kaon cross
section was found to be mb for 4.1\leq\sqrt{s}\leq5 \GeV.Comment: 13 pages, 4 eps figure
Determination of Intrinsic Ferroelectric Polarization in Orthorhombic Manganites with E-type Spin Order
By directly measuring electrical hysteresis loops using the Positive-Up
Negative-Down (PUND) method, we accurately determined the remanent
ferroelectric polarization Pr of orthorhombic RMnO3 (R = Ho, Tm, Yb, and Lu)
compounds below their E-type spin ordering temperatures. We found that LuMnO3
has the largest Pr of 0.17 uC/cm^2 at 6 K in the series, indicating that its
single-crystal form can produce a Pr of at least 0.6 \muuC/cm^2 at 0 K.
Furthermore, at a fixed temperature, Pr decreases systematically with
increasing rare earth ion radius from R = Lu to Ho, exhibiting a strong
correlation with the variations in the in-plane Mn-O-Mn bond angle and Mn-O
distances. Our experimental results suggest that the contribution of the Mn t2g
orbitals dominates the ferroelectric polarization.Comment: 16 pages, 4 figure
Teaching physical education abroad : Perspectives from host cooperating teachers, local students and Australian pre-service teachers using the social exchange theory
Research on pre-service teachers (PSTs) in international teaching practicums often focus on their experiences rather than how it ameliorates the host communities. Constructs of Social Exchange Theory were used to explore benefits and challenges experienced by four Australian PSTs, two Chinese cooperating teachers (CTs) and 169 local students. The PSTs experienced personal and professional growth, the CTs gained new pedagogical insights, and local students experienced cultural immersion with improved engagement in physical education. Despite mutual benefits, challenges emerged from teaching differences, language barrier, and personal obstacles. These underscore the necessity of investing time and resources to minimise such challenges

Higher Derivative CP(N) Model and Quantization of the Induced Chern-Simons Term
We consider higher derivative CP(N) model in 2+1 dimensions with the
Wess-Zumino-Witten term and the topological current density squared term. We
quantize the theory by using the auxiliary gauge field formulation in the path
integral method and prove that the extended model remains renormalizable in the
large N limit. We find that the Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory is dynamically
induced in the large N effective action at a nontrivial UV fixed point. The

always be described in terms of the Kraus representation. A general scheme on

Observed transition from Richtmyer-Meshkov jet formation through feedout oscillations to Rayleigh-Taylor instability in a laser target
Experimental study of hydrodynamic perturbation evolution triggered by a
laser-driven shock wave breakout at the free rippled rear surface of a plastic
target is reported. At sub-megabar shock pressure, planar jets manifesting the
development of the Richtmyer-Meshkov-type instability in a non-accelerated
target are observed. As the shock pressure exceeds 1 Mbar, an oscillatory
rippled expansion wave is observed, followed by the "feedout" of the
rear-surface perturbations to the ablation front and the development of the
Rayleigh-Taylor instability, which breaks up the accelerated target.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figure
Effect of multiple transverse modes in self-mixing sensors based on vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers
We investigate the effect of coexisting transverse modes on the operation of self-mixing sensors based on vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs). The effect of multiple transverse modes on the measurement of displacement and distance were examined by simulation and in laboratory experiment. The simulation model shows that the periodic change in the shape and magnitude of the self-mixing signal with modulation current can be properly explained by the different frequency-modulation coefficients of the respective transverse modes in VCSELs. The simulation results are in excellent agreement with measurements performed on single-mode and multimode VCSELs and on self-mixing sensors based on these VCSELs
As NMR of Ba(FeCo)As in High Magnetic Field
The superconducting state of an optimally doped single crystal of
Ba(FeCo)As was investigated by As NMR in high
magnetic fields from 6.4 T to 28 T. It was found that the Knight shift is least
affected by vortex supercurrents in high magnetic fields, T, revealing
slow, possibly higher order than linear, increase with temperature at , with . This is consistent with the
extended s-wave state with symmetry but the precise details of the gap
structure are harder to resolve. Measurements of the NMR spin-spin relaxation
time, , indicate a strong indirect exchange interaction at all
temperatures. Below the superconducting transition temperature vortex dynamics
lead to an anomalous dip in at the vortex freezing transition from which
