SOME ASPECTS OF THE HEALTH STATUS OF GIFTED SCHOOL CHILDREN
We surveyed. 112 adolescents aged 14-17 years. This cohort of children was divided into 3 groups: gifted realized, unrealized and secondary gifted intellectuals. The perinatal course peculiarities influence to development of psychosomatic disorders in gifted students. Perinatal factors such as age of mothers less 30 years, eventfullness of pregnancy and. deviations in child development up to 1 year were found in the students with psychosomatic disorders
Correlation between actual nutrition and lipid peroxidation and antioxidant defense parameters in aged 14β17 years adolescents living in rural area
The aim of the study was to reveal the relationship between the parameters of actual nutrition and the lipid peroxidation and antioxidant defense system in adolescents aged 14β17 in a rural area.Β Material and methods. 76 adolescents aged 14β17 of the Irkutsk region were examined by the cross-sectional study method. Actual nutrition was studied by the 24-hour nutrition reproduction method. The content of substrates with unsaturated double bonds (DB), diene conjugates (DC), ketodienes and conjugated trienes (KD and CT), thiobarbituric acid reacting species (TBARS), Ξ±-tocopherol, retinol, reduced (GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG), total blood antioxidant activity (TAA), superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in blood by spectrophotometry and fluorometry methods were analyzed.Β Results. The adolescentsβ diet did not meet the principles of a balanced diet β there was reduced protein intake, an imbalance of unsaturated fatty acids, A, C, D, B vitamins deficiency. An excessive element in the diet was sodium. The content of substrates with DB, KD and CT and TBARS increased significantly in the studied group of adolescents, the concentration of DC decreased. Parameters of antioxidant defense both decreased (TAA, retinol content) and increased (Ξ±-tocopherol, GSH concentration). Correlation analysis showed relationships between DB and vitamin B1, B2 content; DC level and calories, carbohydrate and vitamin B1 content; concentration of KD and CT and fats, TAA and vitamin A and Ξ²-carotene level; level of Ξ±-tocopherol in blood and vitamin E in food; GSH and vitamin K; SOD activity and vitamin H content. Multiple negative correlations were between GSSG and fat, vitamins B1, B9, C, K food concentration were found.Conclusions. The calculated vitamin consumption indicators allow to reveal nutritional deviations in adolescents and to connect them with the real provision of the body with these metabolites

EXPERIMENTAL MODELING OF APOPTOSIS UNDER CONDITIONS OF STABLE STRONTIUM EXPOSURE
Apoptosis is defined as a highly regulated form of programmed cell death with typical morphological and biochemical features. A variety of factors, including heavy metals, may influence the intensity of programmed cell death. The aim of the work was to simulate apoptosis in an in vitrosystem under the conditions of stable strontium exposure. The childrenβs population consuming drinking water with high strontium (Sr2+) content (n = 49) was observed. The level of lymphocyte apoptosis was determined with flow cytometry technique, by means of labeled annexin V-FITC conjugate (AnnV-FITC) and propidium iodide (PI) staining. AnnV-FITC+PI- cells were regarded as early apoptotic forms, whereas late apoptotic and/or necrotic cells were AnnV-FITC+PI+. The isolated leukocytes were incubated with Sr2+ at a concentration of 7.0 mg/l, the maximal permitted concentration (MPC) for water of aqueous objects, for 4 hours at 37 ΒΊC. Expression of CD95 and p53 apoptosis markers was performed by flow cytometry using labeled monoclonal antibodies.In vitroexposure to strontium was associated with significantly decreased expression of apoptosisregulating factors, i.e., membrane marker CD95 and intracellular transcription protein p53, 1.56- and 1.68-fold, respectively. Meanwhile, we revealed a significantly (4.68-fold) decreased amounts of AnnV-FITC+PI--cells, as well as a statistically significant (1.35-fold) increase of the AnnV-FITC+PI+-cells. Moreover, the amounts of AnnV-FITC+ PI--lymphocytes in all samples were below the physiological ranges and control values. The number of samples with higher contents of AnnV-FITC+PI+-lymphocyte exceeding the established standards and control values, was 30.8%. Thus, it has been experimentally proven that strontium, at a concentration corresponding to MPC for water objects may significantly inhibit cell death along apoptotic pathways, with switching to necrotic cell death mechanisms, according to phosphatidylserine contents, as detected by annexin V binding test. The data have revealed an ability of strontium to have a significant effect upon the parameters of regulation and maintenance of cellular homeostasis, by influencing the apoptosis intensity, due to shifting a balance towards necrosis and reducing expression of apoptosis-regulating factors. The results of this study may be used in order to identify some marker indexes of immune disorders potentially induced by external influence of strontium upon human health under specific environmental factors
FEATURES OF ANTIOXIDANT SYSTEM STATE IN ADOLESCENTS OF EASTERN SIBERIA IN DEPENDS ON THEIR GENDER AND ETHNIC ORIGIN
This research is devoted to studying of features of antioxidant protection system in adolescent boys and girls of various ethnic groups of Eastern Siberia. Study of the peculiarities of processes of antioxidant protection of populations of people of different ethnicity, living in the same geographical conditions, is of undoubted scientific interest. It is especially important to assess metabolic status of a young, growing body to ensure in the future the preservation of reproductive ability. We biochemically evaluated 58 boys of 14-17 years old. Out of them 19 boys were Russian, 29 boys were Buryat population and 10 boys were metises. Also we biochemically evaluated 57 girls. Out of them 21 were Russian, 27 girls were Buryat population and 9 girls were metises. The materials for biochemical studies were blood serum and red cells. The total antioxidant activity of serum and the content of its components (superoxide dismutase, Ξ±-tocopherol, retinol, blood-reduced glutathione) were evaluatedbya spectrofluomphotometer Β«SHIMADZU-1501Β» (Japan). Statistical analysis was performed by parametric tests. The study was supported by grants of the President ofthe Council of the Russian Federation (Scientific School 494.2012.7). The detected features of antioxidant protection processes in observed adolescents had gender differences, also may be explained by their ethnicity and characterized by different degree of activity of metabolic processes in adolescent boys and girls of different ethnic groups of Eastern Siberia. Study the state of the antioxidant system of the organism can be used as an additional criterion for complex examination of practically healthy adolescents, which significantly enhance the representation about the adaptation possibilities of the organism to external conditions and can be a basis for effective monitoring of reproductive health in the future

oai:oai.vair.elpub.ru:article/624The objective is to study the effect of different concentrations of sevoflurane on activation of human neutrophils in an ex vivo model.Subjects and Methods. The cell culture of venous blood neutrophils of 5 healthy men was used in this study. Neutrophil activation by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and chemotaxis peptide N-formyl-methionine-leucine-phenylalanine (fMLP) as stimulants, was assessed by the expression level of CD11b and CD66b, IL-1Ξ², IL-6 and IL-8, the level of phosphorylation of glycogen synthase Ξ²-kinase-3Ξ² (GSK-3Ξ²). Annexin V and propidium iodide were used to assess apoptosis. Neutrophils were exposed to 0.5, 1 and 1.5 MAC of sevoflurane to assess the effect of the drug on their activation.Results. Incubation of neutrophils with LPS and fMLP statistically significantly increased the expression of these molecules: treatment with LPS at the dose of 200 ng/ml increased CD11b and CD66b expression by 2.3 and 2.2 times (p = 0.002 and p = 0.001, respectively), while treatment with fMLP at 100 nM increased expression by 1.7 and 2.0 times (p = 0.025 and p = 0.03, respectively). When neutrophils were incubated with the same concentration of LPS after exposure to sevoflurane at a dose of 1.5 MAC, the level of CD11b and CD66b expression increased versus intact neutrophils. In this experiment, the change in CD11b expression was statistically insignificant (p = 0.055), the change in CD66b expression was statistically significant (p = 0.007). Thus, sevoflurane exposure at a dose of 1.5 MAC reduces proinflammatory activation of neutrophils induced by LPS.Conclusion. Stimulation of neutrophils by LPS was accompanied by dephosphorylation of GSK-3Ξ², and exposure to 1.5 MAC of sevoflurane resulted in its phosphorylation. Endolithic and hypolithic soil-like systems: structure and composition from the macroto submicro-levels
The paper presents a detailed study on structure and composition of endolithic and hypolithic systems. The following issues are discussed: morphology at macro to submicro levels, biochemical weathering, formation of carbonates and oxalates in situ, migration of Fe compounds, and spatial patterns of endolithic systems. Endolithic and hypolithic systems have major features attributed to soils: (a) rock layer exposed to external abiogenic factors, (b) lithomatrix inhabited by living organisms which are synthesizing and decomposing organic matter, (c) as a result initial parent rock (lithomatrix) is transformed in situ by biogenic and abiogenic factors, the products of transformation are retained and/or removed, the vertical heterogenity is established in a form of microhorizons composing microprofile. Examined profiles of endolithic systems in granitoids of East Antarctica with high quartz content had clear eluvial-illuvial differentiation patterns. Similar patterns have been discovered in different landscapes from the Plateau Ozark in Missouri to the Table Mountain in South Africa

The present study was undertaken to evaluate the informative value of the parameters reflecting the severity of endotoxi-cosis in the early postoperative period in diabetic patients with generalized purulent peritonitis. Sixty-six patients were examined and treated. A follow-up assessment of biochemical, immunological, and hemodynamic parameters has established that the serum level of procalcitonin, the level of leukocytosis, the immunoregulatory index, the content of circulating immune complexes, the scores of the SOFA scale, and minute circulatory volume are the most sensitive and specific markers of the severity of endotoxicosis.
