Projet PROMATHWe undertake the study of signals originated in time-dependent nonlinear systems by recourse to a wavelet based multiresolution analysis, as adapted to a non-extensive (Tsallis) scenario. Diverse applications are discussed that illustrate the fact that a Tsallis environment seems to provide one with more detailed information than the conventional Shannon one

Study of fast-ion-driven toroidal Alfv茅n eigenmodes impacting on the global confinement in TCV L-mode plasmas

Following recent observations of unstable Toroidal Alfv茅n Eigenmodes (TAEs) in a counter-current Neutral Beam Injection (NBI) scenario developed in TCV, an in-depth analysis of the impact of such modes on the global confinement and performance is carried out. The study shows experimental evidence of non-degradation of ion thermal confinement despite the increasing of auxiliary power. During such an improved confinement period, Toroidal Alfv茅n Eigenmodes (TAEs) driven by fast ions generated through Neutral Beam Injection (NBI) are found unstable. Together with the TAEs, various instabilities associated with the injection of the fast neutrals are observed by multiple diagnostics, and a first characterization is given. Nonlinear wave-wave couplings are also detected through multi-mode analysis, revealing a complex picture of the stability dynamics of the TCV scenario at hand. The measurements provided by a short-pulse reflectometer corroborate the identification and radial localization of the instabilities. A preliminary, but not conclusive, analysis of the impact of TAEs on the amplitude of the electron density fluctuations is carried out. Local flux-tube gyrokinetic simulations show that the dominant underlying instabilities in the absence of fast ions are Trapped Electron Modes (TEM), and that these modes are effectively suppressed by zonal flows. Attempts to simulate the simultaneous presence of fast-ion driven TAEs and TEM turbulence show that elongated streamers develop up to the full radial extent of the flux-tube domain, thereby invalidating the local assumption and indicating that a global approach is mandatory in these TCV plasmas

Data is related to the research on processing and microstructural characterization of metallic powders produced from chips of AA2024 alloy. DSC data show results of DSC studies of AA2024 alloy. XRD data shows diffractograms for four milling regimes and initial chips. SLS method helped to estimate powder size for the milled powders and to get statistically valued results

Characterization of Superplastic Deformation Behavior for a Novel Al-Mg-Fe-Ni-Zr-Sc Alloy: Arrhenius-Based Modeling and Artificial Neural Network Approach

The application of superplastic forming for complex components manufacturing is attractive for automotive and aircraft industries and has been of great interest in recent years. The current analytical modeling theories are far from perfect in this area, and the results deduced from it characterize the forming conditions insufficiently well; therefore, successful numerical modeling is essential. In this study, the superplastic behavior of the novel Al-Mg-Fe-Ni-Zr-Sc alloy with high-strain-rate superplasticity was modeled. An Arrhenius-type constitutive hyperbolic-sine equation model (ACE) and an artificial neural network (ANN) were developed. A comparative study between the constructed models was performed based on statistical errors. A cross validation approach was utilized to evaluate the predictability of the developed models. The results revealed that the ACE and ANN models demonstrated strong workability in predicting the investigated alloy鈥檚 flow stress, whereas the ACE approach exhibited better predictability than the ANN
