An anotated list of the Curculionoidea (Coleoptera) of Dominica (excluding Scolytinae and Platypodidae)
Curculionoidea (Coleoptera) of the West Indian island of Dominica are composed of 111 genera and 214 species and subspecies. Some of the species listed are morphospecies, or are known to be undescribed, but all are identified at least to genus. Previously the fauna was recorded as 31 species. Numbers presented herein represent a seven-fold increase in species diversity. Furthermore, the widespread nature of many species demonstrates that the supposedly endemic faunas of many West Indian islands may be based on collecting biases or a lack of people capable of providing species level identifications

THE EFFECT OF PERSONAL AND FARM CHARACTERISTICS UPON GRAIN MARKETING PRACTICES
A survey of Kansas, Texas, and Iowa agricultural producers was taken to examine the factors affecting their grain marketing practices. Sales indices models and models of qualitative choice are used to determine whether marketers' choices of cash market, forward contract, or futures and options oriented marketing practices are significantly affected by their personal farm business characteristics. Results indicate that geographic location, farm size, grain enterprise specialization, farming experience, use of grain storage, and use of crop insurance have significant effects upon the respondents' choice of grain marketing practices.agricultural options, cash marketing, futures, grain marketing practices, multinomial logit, Tobit, Marketing,
Light Scattering and Gloss of an Experimental Quartz-filled Composite
For samples of polymethylmethacrylate with and without quartz filler, the inverse of the contrast-gloss ratio is shown to be related to surface roughness and to the optical scattering coefficient. This finding adds to the importance of optical scattering, which has been widely studied because of its relation to color and translucency of materials. Furthermore, optical scattering by composite fillers is shown to be linearly related to the concentration of the filler material within the range of concentrations studied. Quartz fillers were incorporated at concentrations from 5 to 20 weight percent and were short fibers or granular powder, with the granular particles ranging in median equivalent spherical diameter from 15 to 3.3 ÎĽm. The efficiency of optical scattering for the granular quartz filler increased as the size of the filler decreased.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/68026/2/10.1177_00220345860650060501.pd
Affective Encoding and Decoding: A Test of a Circular Model of Emotions
The purpose of this study is to propose a circular, hierarchical model of emotions. This conceptualization is to be tested by having one group of subjects enact dimensional descriptions of feeling states and to have a second group of subjects judge the presence of each of eight emotions in each enactment. Decoding subjects are expected to evaluate each enactment by identifying the correct emotion and exhibit a specific order in their judgments.Psycholog
