Perspectives on Biotechnology and Biosafety in Uganda
International efforts aimed at the application of biotechnology and
biosafety are underway. Inevitably, Uganda is part of this effort.
However, the country is contstrained by inadequate financial and human
resource capacity to foster her vision and strengthen institutional
structures to fully benefit from the impact of biotechnology research
and development. Uganda realized, however, that she has to apply
science and technology in order to gain a competitive edge in trade,
commerce and industry and an admirable standard of living in the
region
