Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq)Frogs in the genus Cycloramphus are endemic to the Brazilian Atlantic Forest domain and many are threatened or endangered. Cycloramphus species lay eggs either on moist rocks or in moist soil cavities on the ground. Tadpoles of only 8 of the 28 recognized Cycloramphus species are known. Herein we describe the tadpole of C. rhyakonastes on the basis of specimens collected at the type locality in southern Brazil. Cycloramphus rhyakonastes is an aquatic breeder with semiterrestrial tadpoles that live on moist rocks within the splash zone of high gradient streams. We compare the C. rhyakonastes tadpole with all congeneric tadpoles described to date and discuss adaptations in this specialized tadpole and those of other species that adhere to rocky substrates.50289294Fundacao de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Sao Paulo [2011/51694-7, 2013/09964-2]Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cientifico e Tecnologico [405285/2013-2, 302589/2013-9]National Science Foundation [CNIC NSF 1159513]Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq

First records of Heliomaster furcifer (Trochilidae) in the State of Sao Paulo and expansion of its distribution. Heliomaster furcifer is a hummingbird that inhabits open areas, appearing to be a species of low density, with few reports in the literature. Its distribution is known for the states of Goias, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais to Rio Grande do Sul, with no records for the State of Sao Paulo. We present here the first records of H. furcifer in this state, expanding its geographical distribution.19342242
