Time-dependent cosmological constant in the Jackiw-Teitelboim cosmology
We study the obtainment of a time-dependent cosmological constant at D=2 in a
model based on the Jackiw-Teitelboim cosmology. We show that the cosmological
term goes to zero asymptotically and can induce a nonsingular behavior at the
origin.Comment: 4 pages, Revtex4, twocolum
A model for time-dependent cosmological constant and its consistency with the present Friedmann universe
We use a model where the cosmological term can be related to the chiral gauge
anomaly of a possible quantum scenario of the initial evolution of the
universe. We show that this term is compatible with the Friedmann behavior of
the present universe.Comment: 5 pages, Revtex 4, twocolumn (minor corrections and improved

A nongravitational wormhole
Using the effective metric formalism for photons in a nonlinear
electromagnetic theory, we show that a certain field configuration in
Born-Infeld electromagnetism in flat spacetime can be interpreted as an
ultrastatic spherically symmetric wormhole. We also discuss some properties of
the effective metric that are valid for any field configuration.Comment: LaTex, 9 pages with 5 figures, minor changes, accepted for
