    DETRIMENTAL CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF ORGANIZATIONAL INJUSTICE IN THE WORKPLACE: EVIDENCE FROM PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS

    This study investigated the causes of organizational injusticeand how this influences employees’ job outcomes in public sectororganizations in Pakistan. Two models were constructed and analyzed to fulfill the research goals. Data were obtained using a simple random sampling technique. Of the sample, 254 employees of public sector organizations filled out self-administered questionnaires. Multiple regression was applied to test direct proposed hypotheses. To evaluatethe organizational injustice’s indirect effect on organizationalperformance due to employees’ job dissatisfaction, the mediation test of Preacher and Hayes (2004) was applied. The results showed that organizational injustice negatively impacts affective commitment and perceived organizational performance. Moreover, job dissatisfaction impacts the relationship in organizational injustice, perceived organizational performance and affective commitment

    Gender Empowerment through Women’s Higher Education: Opportunities and Possibilities

    In Pakistan, particularly in the rural and suburban areas, promoting women's education can perhaps play a vital role in gender equality. Education will also increase the ability of women to secure employment in the formal sector. The purpose of this study was to explore the possibilities and opportunities for women's empowerment in Pakistan. This first stage looked at the perceptions of a small group of ten women who hold senior posts in a female university. Data were gathered by semistructured informal interviews and it was hoped that considering information-rich cases would illuminate the questions under study. 1) How the participants in the study understand the role of higher education in empowering women at home and at their work, 2) what they see as the major constraints to progress in career, 3) what type of coping strategies they propose for the entire female population to realise their full potential. Participants were more or less agreed that women have to face socio-cultural hurdles to acquire education and pursue careers. Pakistani women are struggling hard naturally to get their rights but also to write history of success indicating how opportunities were/ are created and possibilities can be explored and negotiated in a non-confrontational manner

    Construction and Validation of Academic Stress Scale for University Students

    Present study aimed to construct and validate an instrument to measure the academic stress among university students of Pakistan. Item construction of this instrument was based on literature review, interviews from university students and expert’s opinion. After pilot study exploratory factor analysis was performed on a sample of477 student (226men and 251 women), recruited from different departments of University of Sargodha, Pakistan. 26 items were retained after exploratory factor analysis with three well defined factors(1, Personal, Parental and Teachers’ attitude, 2. Perception of workload and examinations, 3. Concerns about education system and management)Range of Alpha coefficients for scale and its subscales was .72 to .87.Results of Confirmatory factor analysis performed on an independent sample revealed excellent model fit to present data. Three factor structure of Academic stress scale was confirmed by CFA. Convergent validity of Academic Stress Scale was proved by finding its positive correlation with UCLA Loneliness scale, Depression scale and Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale. Excellent reliability and validity evidences proved this scale as a promising measure of academic stress

    The Heterogeneous Effects of COVID-19 Outbreak on Stock Market Returns and Volatility: Evidence from Panel Quantile Regression Model

    The purpose of this study is to probe the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on stock market returns and volatility in developed markets. We employ a panel quantile regression model to capture unobserved individual heterogeneity and distributional heterogeneity. The study's findings reveal that there is a heterogeneous impact of COVID-19 on stock market returns and volatility. More specifically, there is a negative impact of COVID-19 on stock returns in the bearish stock market; however, there is an insignificant impact of COVID-19 on stock returns in the bullish stock market.     Forensic Entomology: A Comprehensive Review

    Determination of post mortem interval is done with various methods depending upon the condition of the dead body and the circumstances in which it is found. Ruling out foul play in unnatural deaths has been an enigma of a sort for forensic pathologists and scientists all over the world. The methods to determine the cause and manner of death keep on emerging with ongoing researches in the fields of forensic sciences. Many methods have been devised to determine cause, manner and specifically time since death. Forensic entomology is one such field that aids in determination of time since death, especially in putrefied corpses found in different habitats in mysterious unknown circumstances. The field keeps on emerging with the advent of new techniques on molecular level, including DNA analysis and identification based on entomological data that has diversified over the years. The standards and guidelines for entomological data collection and processing needed for implication on the crime scene must be revised now and again for assistance of crime scene investigators, scientists, entomologists and pathologists. Various factors must be considered while processing entomological data that affect post mortem intervals. The keen study of life cycles, groups of similar insects, valid and standard methods of insect collection, breeding and identification can give a lead on cause, manner, time, place and circumstances of unknown or unnatural deaths.

    Purchase Intention for Halal Cosmetic Product Among TikTok Application Users in Johor

    The demand for halal cosmetic products among the 2.0 billion Muslim consumers is growing internationally. This paper aims to identify the influence on attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and knowledge towards the intention to purchase halal cosmetic products among consumers. A total of 100 questionnaires were distributed to TikTok users in Johor. The findings indicated that all variables positively influenced purchase intention of halal cosmetic products. This study also provides further insights into potential marketing strategies by halal cosmetic product manufacturers and the prospective halal cosmetic industry in Malaysia

    Rural Area School Teacher’s Technology Adoption: Lessons learned from the COVID-19 phenomenon

    The occurrence of Covid-19 has caused the existing school learning system to move to online teaching and learning methods. They are carried out to safeguard the continuity of school learning sessions, attempting to avert dropouts. This paper analyzes the relationships between organizational factors, perceived usefulness, personal innovativeness, and peers with technology adoption among teachers in rural schools in Segamat District. A total of 117 teachers were involved in this study. The results showed that perceived usefulness, personal innovativeness, and peers influenced technology adoption among teachers from rural schools.     The Acceptance of E-Learning Among Distance Learners: A case study on public universities in South Malaysia

    Today’s conventional teaching and learning methods have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Online forms are replacing traditional education approaches. Along with the era of advanced technology, many universities are taking this opportunity to develop e-learning platforms to be used by both students and educators. This paper analyses the relationships between student behaviour, technological systems, interactive applications, institutional factors, and instructor characteristics to accept electronic learning among distance learners. A total of 479 valid questionnaires were analyzed. The result indicates that student behaviour, interactive applications, and instructor characteristics are the determinants of electronic learning.     Exploring Barriers Contributing towards an Effective Online Learning among Undergraduates’ Students using PLS-SEM

    In March 2020, the world was first hit by Covid-19 that started to have negative impact on all sectors including education. Most of the higher learning institutions had a shift to use the technology in imparting knowledge and conducting online learning for students. This paper analyzed the effect of attitude, interruption, personal skills and technology skills towards effective online learning. A total of 375 valid questionnaire responses was coded and analyzed using PLS-SEM analysis. The findings showed the attitude and technology skills were significant factors to the barriers of effective online learning among students.     Technology Application among Teachers from Rural Schools in Johor

    The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the world’s education system, including Malaysia. This disruption has affected approximately 1.6 billion students in more than 200 countries. The closure of educational institutions has caused various changes in people’s lives. This research examines the associations between institutional support, perceptions of usefulness, personal innovation, perceived social pressure, and age with the application of technology among teachers from rural schools in Johor. One hundred ten teachers were involved in this study. The results showed that perceived usefulness, personal innovativeness, and perceived social pressure had influenced technology adoption among the teachers from rural schools.
