¿De qué hablamos cuando hablamos de constitucionalismo multicultural?

Durante los últimos años, los medios de comunicación anuncian continuamente la instauración, fruto de los últimos procesos constituyentes en América Latina, especialmente en Venezuela, Ecuador y Bolivia, de una nueva forma de socialismo. Sin embargo, la pregunta que muchos estudiosos del neoconstitucionalismo latinoamericano nos hemos formulado es la siguiente: ¿nos encontramos, en estos países, ante una auténtica revolución de la que está emergiendo una nueva forma de Estado y de Derecho no liberal?, o bien, ¿estamos ante una simple evolución, ampliación y especificación de los derechos liberales y, por tanto, ante un constitucionalismo liberal de tercera generación –constitucionalismo multicultural–? Esta será la pregunta que intentaré responder en este trabajo.In recent years, the media continually announce the establishment, as a result of recent constituent processes in Latin America, especially in Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia, of a new kind of socialism. However, the question that menay scholars of Latin American neoconstitutionalism have asked is: ¿It is happening, in these countries, a real revolution from which is emerging a new form of a non-liberal state and law?, or are we witnessing a simple evolution, expansion and specification of liberal rights and, therefore, facing a third-generation liberal constitutionalism –multicultural constitutionalism–?
