    The Effect of The Resources and Capabilities to Competitive Advantage and Company’s Performance of “Batik” Micro

    Purpose                                                 : This study aims to demonstrate and explain the effect of the resources and capabilities to competitive advantage and company’s performance in a comprehensive. Desain/Methodology /Approach                                             : This research use quantitative methods with positivism approach using associative research type. Total sample 255 companies. Data analysis using SEM (Structural Equation Modelling). Finding                                                  : The results show that the resources are valuable and rare has an effect significantly to competitive advantage and company’s performance. While the company’s capabilities are valuable, rare and inimitable does not affect to the competitive advantage but has an effect significantly to company’s performance. Originality/Value                               : This study measure the company’s performance by combining the perspective of the resources, capabilities and competitive advantage on batik micro in Madura Island, Indonesia.     Analisis Investasi Dalam Menentukan Portofolio Optimal Di Bursa Efek Jakarta

    This research is an effort to show how to analyse an investment by diversificating in order to minimize the risk and to gain expected profit through Simple Criteria for Optimal Portfolio Selection (SCOPS) method supported by Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) method as a comparative factor. Data were taken from Index LQ 45 which having the bigest capitalization and liquid in trading frequency. Sampling with drawal was done with certain creterians and 27 selected from 45 population. Results of this research indicates that beta as a risk measurement reffecting less influence on market. 27 from selected samples 5 of them become optimal portfolio candidates among others Lippo Land Devlopment (LPLD), Astra International Inc (ASII), Telkom (TLKM), Lippo Bank (LPBN), and Barito Pacific Timber (BRPT) with each Excess Return to Beta (ERB) 2.2576, 2.0407, 0.5102, 0.4576 and 0.2801 which is higher than cut off rate (C*) namely 0.1106. The proportion of invested funds on each share 16.65 % for LPLD, 56.91 % for ASII, 14.82 for TLKM, 5.20 % for LPBN, and 6.42 % for BRPT with return portfolio ( ) 0.0406 and portfolio risk ( ) 1.5839. It is concluded that SCOPS method has been functioned in line with this research of which the selected shere become optimal portfolio candidate is the best diversification although the resnlt of test corelation is not significant

    The Effect of Knowledge Leadership toward Organizational Culture, Individual Learning, and Collective Learning and Its Implication toward Individual Creativity: a Study on State-Owned Plantation Enterprises of Indonesia

    The aim of this study is to describe the effect of Knowledge Leadership in the context of learning and creativity, using the model of Knowledge Leadership proposed by Viitala (2004) as the basis. Testing the model was performed on fourteen (14) State-Owned Plantation Enterprises throughout Indonesia. The study sample consisted of 245 middle managers and data was analyzed using GSCA (Generalized Structured Component Analysis) approach. The research results confirm a significant effect of Knowledge Leadership on Organizational Culture and Collective Learning. Indirect influence of Knowledge Leadership on Organizational Culture through Individual Learning and Individual Creativity has also been revealed. Organizational culture has a significant effect on Individual Learning, Collective Learning, and Individual Creativity. The study also confirms the non-significant effect of Individual Learning on Collective Learning, and Collective Learning has no significant effect on Individual Creativity. The results show the importance of organizational culture as a key in the implementation of Knowledge Leadership in an organization. In addition, the research also approves the importance of the conversion process of individual learning to collective learning in order to produce effective use of knowledge as a source of long-term competitive advantage in an organization.     Antecedents of E-Commerce Use in The Hospitality Industry: An Empirical Study in Indonesia

    This study aims to explain the influence of Relative Advantage, Compatibility, Organizational Readiness, Management Support and External Pressure on the Use of E-Commerce. In accordance with the purpose of research, this study used a kind of explanatory Research. The study population was  star hotels in Bali Indonesia, which already apply the technology of E-Commerce at least one year. Samples were taken using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a method of Partial Least Square (PLS). The analysis showed that all variables have positive effect on the use of E-Commerce, but the results of t-test showed that only four variables (Relative Advantage, Organizational Readiness, Management Support and External Pressure) which have a significant effect. While the effect of Compatibility was not statistically significant. As a theoretical implications, future researchers should carefully consider 1) the longitudinal approach in data collection research, 2) using more than one respondent as key informants representing the leaders and members in each company was chosen as the unit of analysis. As a practical implication, the hotel needs to consider the readiness in the implementation of E-Commerce.     The objectives of this research are (1) to analyze and to explain the influence of strategic decision on MSME performance, (2) to analyze and to explain the influence of strategic decision on competitive advantage, (3) to analyze and to explain the influence of innovation on MSME performance, (4) to analyze and to explain the influence of innovation on competitive advantage, (5) to analyze and to explain the influence of information technology adoption on MSME performance, (6) to analyze and to explain the influence of technology information adoption on competitive advantage (7) to analyze and to explain the influence of competitive advantage on MSME performance.Research uses explanatory research to explain the relationship between research variables. It is conducted at micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in food and beverage industry sector. Unit of analysis is 152 owners of micro, small and .medium enterprises. Statistic analysis is used for hypothesis testing. Method of this analysis is Structural Equation Model (SEM).Result of research has indicated that there are seven (7) direct relation paths, five (5) significant relation paths, and two (2) not significant paths. The significant relation paths are (1) strategic decision on competitive advantage, (2) Innovation on MSME performance, (3) Innovation on competitive advantage, (4) information technology adoption on MSME performance, and (5) information technology adoption on competitive advantage. The not significant relation paths are (1) strategic decision on MSME performance, and (2) competitive advantage on MSME performance.     The Influence of Organizational Culture and Entrepreneurial Orientation on the Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment, and Employee’s Performance

    This study aimed to describe and explain the influence of organizational culture and entrepreneurial orientation on the job satisfaction, organizational commitment and employee’s performance.This study was qualitative design with the primary data source was derived from the 120 people on four medium scale (UM) companies which process food and beverage in Pekanbaru. A questionnaire was used as the instrument to gain the data, and the data analysis method employed in this study was the Structured Generalized Component Analysis) GSCA.There were some important findings in this study, namely: first, job satisfaction is a perfect mediation of theinfluence of organizational culture on the employee’s performance; second, organizational commitment perfect mediation of the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on the employee’s performance. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment may affect the increase in the employee’s performance.In general, the results of the analysis showed that the job satisfaction and organizational commitment as determiners in improving the employee’s performance. Organizational culture is the only factor that can increase the job satisfaction which then can improve the employee’s performance. Likewise with the organizational commitment, entrepreneurial orientation is the only factor which can improve organizational commitment which is to improve the employee’s performance.     Effect of Leadership Behaviour, Organizational Climate, Intrinsic Motivation, and Engagement on Job Performance

    This research aims to explain the effect of leadership behaviour, organizational climate, intrinsic motivation and  engagement on job performance (Study of permanently employed lecturers in private university of area III DKI Jakarta) in permanently employed lecturers in private university of region 3 DKI Jakarta. This research is explanatory research which explains the correlation among research variables. Research object was conducted in 3 private universities of region 3 of DKI Jakarta, having homogeneous factors comprising Economics Faculty, Management Study Program, Undergraduate Student number more than 2000 and A Accredited. Analysis Unit of this research is permanently employed lecturers, accounting for 150 persons.   Analysis tool used to test 7 hypotheses is Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA). It was found that all hypotheses had substantial results: 5 (five) hyphothese had significant influenves and 2 (two) were insignificant. The empirically proven hypothesis was effect of organizational climate on working performanc, the effect of intrinsic motivation on working performance, the effect of leadership behaviour on engagement, the effect of organizational climate on engagement and the effect of engagement on working performance. Yet, there is one hypothesis not empirically proven which was the effect of leadership behaviour on working performance and the effect of intrinsic motivation on engagement.     S The study perceives the effectiveness of leadership from the effect of leader`s style that orientation task and employee on the employee`s job performance and employee`s job satisfaction. The study aims at : (1) finding out significantly effects of the leader`s style that orientation task and employee on employee`s job performance, (2) finding out significantly effects of the leader`s style that orientation task and employee on employee`s job satisfaction, and (3) ) finding out significantly effects of the leader`s style that orientation task and employee on employee`s job performance and employee`s job satisfaction directly and indirectly. This is a survey research involving the employees of PT. Semen Gresik , at the analysis unit, with sample of 68 from 212 employees a quastionaire was used. Hipothesis testing was done by path analysis. The result of study showed that : (1) leader`s style that orientation task and employee are significantly affected the employee`s job performance, (2) leader`s style that orientation task and employee are significantly affected the employee`s job satisfaction, and (3) leader`s style that orientation task and employee are significantly effected the employee`s job performance and employee`s job satisfaction. Based on the finding, therefore, it is suggested that the leder`s style on orientation task is basically dominant variable in influencing the employee`s job performance and employee`s job satisfaction. We also suggested that the organization pay more attention to their employee`s need to get their goals
