Abstract
Exploring the Perceptions and Adaptability of Behavioral Intervention Teams During COVID-19: A Qualitative Interview Study
by
Amanda Louise Niguidula
When first established, Behavioral Intervention Teams\u27 primary purpose was to reduce and prevent campus violence. More recently, these Teams\u27 focus expanded beyond mitigating on-campus violence to a more general concern with student mental health and well-being (Randazzo & Plummer, 2009; Sokolow et al., 2014, Sokolow & Lewis, 2009, Van Brunt, 2016). BITs are present at nearly all higher education institutions, and studies show that they are a key component for preventing and responding to campus violence (Van Brunt, 2016). Although research has been conducted on the development of campus Behavioral Intervention Teams, there is little qualitative research examining BITs members\u27 perspectives about how they carried out and understood their work (DeLaTorre, 2011; Gamm, Mardis & Sullivan, 2011; Golston, 2015; Graney, 2011; and VanBrunt, Sokolow, Lewis & Schuster, 2012). However, since these Teams perform an essential role at most institutions, it is important for higher education scholars and practitioners to understand the inner workings of these Teams.
The purpose of this qualitative interview study is to explore the work of a Behavioral Intervention Team at one university from members\u27 descriptions of the Team\u27s purpose, the targets of their efforts, and overall expectations for continued support for the safety of students, faculty, and staff as they carried out their work during the COVID-19 global pandemic, transitioned to remote work and learning and as they continued to carry out their work within this global emergency. Using semi-structured interviews, ten Behavioral Intervention Team members were asked to articulate and reflect on their experiences on the BIT and describe their work during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Findings revealed that this Team was adaptable and continued to be a resource for the campus community in mitigating violence, even while operating in a virtual setting. Findings also showed that this Team\u27s inner workings were predicated on fluid roles within the Team composition, strengthening collaboration. The results of this study suggest that these Teams are an increasingly integral part of the campus response to student mental health concerns and dynamic and unpredictable events which span beyond immediate threats to campus safety
Influence and Prospect of Artificial Intelligence on the Development of Cultural Industry
Nowadays, the products carried by artificial intelligence are all over people’s life, such as online shopping, intelligent security, remote diagnosis and treatment, life services, driverless, online distance education, and other services. Artificial intelligence not only allows people to enjoy convenient and fast life benefits, but also brings a certain degree of anxiety to the times. In recent years, with the continued popularity of the “artificial intelligence + culture” industry, the integration of cultural industry and artificial intelligence has become an inevitable development trend. The promotion of technology ultimately serves to improve the quality of human life. Artificial intelligence not only brings convenience, but also brings opportunities and challenges to the cultural industry
A Comprehensive Review of 3D Laser Scanning Point Cloud Data Processing Techniques: Assessing the Dominant Focus and Exploring 3D Modeling and Data Optimization
Three-dimensional laser scanning technology primarily relies on dense scanning points to collect vectorized information of the target object and perform point cloud data processing without physical contact. There are numerous case studies in various fields regarding the use of three-dimensional laser scanning technology for point cloud data acquisition of different objects. By utilizing a three-dimensional laser scanner, precise three-dimensional data of the object's surface can be obtained, effectively meeting the high-precision measurement requirements of three-dimensional points on the object. The main objective of this study is to determine the most suitable point cloud processing method for preprocessing the solid obtained through laser-based 3D scanning. To achieve this goal, we systematically reviewed and reported the technical papers discussing/proposing point cloud data acquisition and processing techniques based on 3D laser scanning technology. As a result of our search, we collected 31 papers on this topic. In this report, we present the process of data collection, result analysis, and classification of related studies. The classification is based on the applicability of methods in processing point cloud data using 3D laser scanning technology. The proposed research clearly demonstrates the latest approaches in data processing in this field and highlights areas that remain unexplored, providing potential avenues for further research
Investigation on the Supply of Rural Public Cultural Services in Hengshui City
With the development of social economy, Hengshui rural public cultural service supply has made some progress in cultural team, venue construction and mass participation, but there are deficiencies in rural public service supply subject, supply quality, capital investment and supervision, professional talent introduction and so on. This paper expounds the improvement countermeasures and suggestions
