ASSESSMENT OF THE POTENTIAL FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AGRITOURISM IN BINH DINH PROVINCE, VIETNAM

This study evaluates the potential for agritourism development in Binh Dinh Province, Central Vietnam. The analytical hierarchical process is used to determine the weights of four factors with 25 measurement criteria to assess agritourism potential. The research results show that Binh Dinh Province has great agritourism potential based on four evaluation factors, including (1) local agricultural tourism resources, (2) the trend for agritourism development and the agritourism market, (3) the local community’s willingness, and (4) the supporting activities of the local government. In particular, the local agricultural tourism resources factor received the highest score, followed by the local community’s willingness and the supporting activities of the local government. The trend for agritourism development and the agritourism market was rated the lowest. Therefore, Binh Dinh has viable opportunities to encourage the growth of agritourism to improve farmers’ livelihoodsDu lịch nông nghiệp đem lại nhiều cơ hội cho phát triển kinh tế cũng như đa dạng hóa các loại hình du lịch và cải thiện đời sống sinh kế của người dân. Tiếp theo, kết quả mô hình hóa sơ đồ mạng cho thấy cả 4 địa phương An Lão, Hoài Ân, Phù Mỹ, thị xã Hoài Nhơn đều được đánh giá ở mức điểm cao về tiềm năng phát triển du lịch nông nghiệp trên các khía cạnh tài nguyên du lịch, xu hướng phát triển du lịch, sự ủng hộ của người dân địa phương và sự quan tâm của chính quyền địa phương. Tuy nhiên, yếu tố xu hướng phát triển thị trường du lịch nông nghiệp được đánh giá ở mức điểm thấp hơn. Điều này cũng xuất phát từ việc phát triển du lịch nông nghiệp tại các huyện, thị xã phía Bắc tỉnh Bình Định cũng mới bắt đầu nhận được sự quan tâm trong vài năm gần đây, số lượt khách tham quan các huyện, thị xã phía Bắc tỉnh Bình Định còn ít so với tiềm năng du lịch của địa bàn

Generic structures and linguistic features of TESOL master’s thesis acknowledgements written by Vietnamese postgraduates

Acknowledgements are a widely used genre in academic discourse to express gratitude towards various types of assistance and contribution of individuals and institutions, and they have been reported to be contextually and culturally interwoven. Despite a number of acknowledgement studies in various settings, little is known of how these texts are composed by EFL writers in Vietnam and whether or not the culture has any influence on the composition of acknowledgements as reported in previous studies of acknowledgements. Following Hyland’s (2004) and Hyland and Tse’s (2004) frameworks, this study investigates the generic structures and linguistic elements of acknowledgements in 202 TESOL master’s theses written by Vietnamese postgraduates. The findings were compared with those in the literature to explore cross-cultural variations in acknowledgement writing. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted with actual thesis writers. The results revealed that these writers generally followed Hyland’s (2004) three-tier structure of writing thesis acknowledgements, but they were frank and less reserved in expressing their gratitude than their Chinese-speaking counterparts. Moreover, socio-cultural expectations, personal dispositions, and individual writing styles mainly affected their move constructions, inclusions of acknowledgees and linguistic choices

APPLYING THE CASE METHOD IN TEACHING THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE AND SECURITY EDUCATION AT THAI NGUYEN HIGH SCHOOL, VIETNAM

The case method is a teaching method based on real-life events that have happened or are happening. This method is based on constructivist theory and geared toward the target: education as preparation for solving life situations. Learning through solving situations helps students actively and strategically receive knowledge, flexibly apply knowledge and skills, and develop problem-solving abilities. By observing, interviewing, and experimenting, the article has developed a process of organizing case teaching and applied it in teaching National Defense and Security Education at Thai Nguyen High School, Vietnam. Initial results show that the percentage of students interested in the lesson is high (85%). That shows that the effectiveness of the method is feasible and creates a basis for continuing to use this teaching method in practice.  Article visualizations

Dependence of Melting Process on Size and Edge Type of Graphene Nanoribbon

The study of variation of the size, armchair and zigzag types effects on the melting process of graphene nanoribbon. A numerical  thermodynamical model has been devoted for the study. The phase transition has first order behaviour. The formation of different defects, ring size and coordination number is dependent on the size and the edge type of GNR. The nuclei of heating appear at temperature around 2300K and that can be considered as pre-melting point. The melting process shows the case that the results of Berezinsky-Kosterlitz-Thouless-Nelson-Halperin-Young (BKTNHY) theory cannot be applied.

Size and Layer Dependence of Hybrid Graphene/h-BN Models Upon Heating

Different models contained graphene layer are studied via molecular dynamics simulation. Models are heated up from 50K to 8000K via Tersoff and Lennard-Jones potentials to have an entire picture about the evolution of graphene layer in the models upon heating. Various thermodynamic quantities, structural characteristics, and the occurrence of liquidlike atoms are studied, such as, the total energy per atom, the heat capacity per atom, the radial distribution functions, and the appearance of liquid atoms upon heating. The phase transition exhibits the first order. The melting point of graphene layer depends on the number of layers in the models while it does not depend on the size in the range of this study. The melting process of hybrid graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) satisfies the first step towards Devil's staircase type phase transition. Improving an Online Course for SQL Learners in LAB University of Applied Sciences: Making use of MOOC for efficient course

The main purpose of this Bachelor thesis is to improve the available SQL online course which is used in LAB University of Applied Sciences to an efficient one and to keep track of the making process, from researching to implementing. Thus, the thesis consists of two main parts which are theoretical (including knowledge and research from available sources) and empirical (noting the process of course improvement with real problems, solutions as well as explanation) part. Implementing an efficient studying course requires concrete knowledge on the course content (SQL), awareness of users’ learning method adoption (MOOC specifically) as well as how to implement the best possible course by using available utilities of the teaching/ learning method. As a result, theoretical is formed as a foundation for the mentioned knowledge. As the main target of the thesis is to generate an efficient SQL online course, empirical part is a must. In this part, the creation will be described step by step through the suggestion, implementation, and improvement along with interview and survey during the process. Assignment creation using VPL will be explained and concentrated in the course implementation. The study could be continued by improving the course by using the feedback from students after the deployment of the course
