In order of staying home because of COVID-19, and It seems like the Groundhog Day that we had to relive the same day over and over and over inside the house. However, the only differences from us every day were the homemade breakfasts. Eating breakfast at home is a simple thing, but we almost forget because of the busy lifestyle that was keeping us away from the family phenomenon. Breakfasts are the first meal of the day, and as crucial as a family culture

A Comparative Look at Anti-Stalking Legislation in the United States and Japan

    Get PDF
Even with anti-stalking laws in place in the United States, the persistence of stalking crimes is alarming. Providing victims with maximum protection under a legal system requires drafting constitutionally valid statutes, mandatory police education and training on the subject and prevention and early intervention. In addition, comparing the anti-stalking laws in the United States with the newly implemented anti-stalking laws in Japan, which have been very effective in curbing the activities of stalkers, leads to the conclusion that anti-stalking laws in the U.S. should incorporate many of Japan\u27s victim-oriented measures

Human resources for commune health centers as per national standards : the case of Vietnam

    Get PDF
Vietnam is among a few countries which have established a model of Commune Health Centers (CHCs) to serve primary health care for all people. Using quota sampling technique, 30 CHCs per each among nine provinces nationwide were equally selected for data collection to assess human resources for CHCs as national standards in Vietnam. A total of 239 CHCs finally completed the survey. Overall, the average number of Health Care Workers (HCWs) in each CHC was 6.3 ± 1.7, which met the national standards (at least five HCWs per CHC). However, only 24.4% of CHCs had 5 required job positions, and 59.7% of CHCs had at least one doctor. These shortages were more emerging in mountainous and remote areas. Further, mountainous and remote areas have been underrepresented of female HCWs, as compared to those in rural and urban areas. Our data provide a quite strong case for policy makers and health managers to improve human resources structure for CHCs. Keywords: Human resources for health (HRH); Commune health center (CHC); Community health services; Healthcare workers; National standards; Vietnam. **Please note that there are multiple authors for this article therefore only the name of the first 5 including Federation University Australia affiliate “Huy Nguyen” is provided in this record*

Hydrodeoxygenation of Guaiacol over Al-MCM-41 Supported Metal Catalysts: A Comparative Study of Co and Ni

    Get PDF
AbstractThe hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of guaiacol, a model compound of pyrolysis oil, was catalyzed by Al-MCM-41 supported Co and Ni catalysts in a fixed-bed continuous reactor at ambient pressure. The effects of contact time (W/F) and reaction temperature on HDO of guaiacol over the Co and Ni catalyst were studied. Cobalt showed higher activity than nickel in HDO via C−O hydrogenolysis pathway. The conversion of guaiacol over Ni catalyst principally occurred via C−C hydrogenolysis pathway, resulting in methane formation. Besides, the acidic Al-MCM-41 support catalyzed the methyl transfer reaction to form the methylated products. Additionally, increasing reaction temperature improved the HDO and suppressed the hydrogenation but promoted the methanization activities

THE EFL 8TH GRADERS’ ATTITUDES TOWARDS THE USE OF COMPETENCY-BASED INSTRUCTION IN LISTENING COMPREHENSION AT A SECONDARY SCHOOL IN KIEN GIANG, VIETNAM

Listening skill is a vital component of language acquisition on the grounds that it can foster the improvement of other language skills. Therefore, enhancing students’ listening is constantly gaining the prominent attention of most English teachers at secondary schools. Besides, applying competency-based instruction into teaching listening is a novel method that helps teachers attain students’ attitudes, affecting their listening comprehension. Therefore, this current study aimed to examine students’ attitudes toward using competency-based instruction in listening for a main idea and specific information. The study employed a qualitative approach to determine 45 8th graders’ attitudes at a secondary school in Kien Giang province. The students’ diaries were the critical data collection. The study’s findings showed that their views affected their listening skills. Most of them had positive attitudes toward the utilization of competency-based instruction in listening comprehension.  Article visualizations

EVALUATING FUTURE WATER QUALITY OF URBAN RIVERS IN HANOI UNDER EFFECT OF URBANIZATION AND CLIMATE CHANGE - THE APPLICATION OF WEAP MODEL FOR CAU BAY RIVER

    Get PDF
Every day, up to 750,000 cubic meters of wastewater in Hanoi metropolitan areas is discharged directly into rivers and lake, of which only 10% is treated to the Vietnamese standards. According to the water drainage development master plan for the capital city of Hanoi until 2030, the government aim at dealing with flooding and improve environmental sanitation for local residents. With respect to the baseline and Master plan implementation scenarios, this study evaluates the future water quality of urban rivers in Hanoi under the effect of urbanization and climate change using Water Evaluation And Planning tool (WEAP) and take the Cau Bay catchment as the case study. The result shows that, without implementation of wastewater treatment plant, the water quality of Cau Bay River will be worse with the DO in dry season is 0.2-1.2 mg/l and BOD is 52.0-55.0 mg/l. With the implementation of Master plan, the level of DO and BOD would be 7.1-7.3 mg/l and 7.0-13.8 mg/l respectively in the dry season whereas the values are 3.7 mgO/l and 36.1-41.8 mg/l in the wet season. The degradation of wastewater during the wet season is results from the combine- overflow sewage system as designed in the master plan
